Commercial Description:
This hoppy, farmhouse style ale has a champagne like effervescence with a crisp but light on the tongue finish. Similar to the Belgian Saison style , this beer serves well as an aperitif. Hennepin has a majestic golden hue. The style is called Grisette or farm house and is considered to be in the domain of the Belgian Saisons.

A nice and lively American Saison. Pale Golden body, very clear. Definite candy sugar notes. I’m not totally sure what everyone else is drinking, but there is distinct hoppiness to this. Quite effervescent on the tongue and pleasant hop bitterness all the way through. Would definitely be very nice on a summer day. Oddly, I read the description after my rating and would say that I definitely agree. Very nice rendition.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy, golden body with a small, white head. Smell: Aroma of pale malts, candi sugar, spice, some bread dough and a faint, faroff fruitiness. Taste: Light pale maltiness, a touch of soft wheat, and a surprisingly bit candy sweetness - much more than I’m looking for, really. Splash of sweetened peach juice, a squirt of lemon. Hardly any hop flavor or bitterness. Small pinch of spice. Brief hint of metal. Sour yeastiness on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Drinkability: Argh, I’ve been shot in the face with disappointment.

12oz bottle. Pour is very nice, hazy honey golden color with a nice white head atop with strong lacing. Nose is mild spices, hops, and slight citrus. Body is crisp, lively and medium/thin. Notes of alcohol, mild citrus, yeast, and spice. Somewhat bland actually.

*did not like would not buy* aroma: nana, warm gold malt sour butter funk grass. app: hazy grass gold pee pond. flavor: mild typical gold belgian farm inspired. it lacks anything new different or unique, its as if some one followed someone elses recipie for a text book high school home economics grade saison.. and got an A.. not an A+ though. nothing bad or wrong.. just a bit so what. all the normal flavors are there. it lacks some grassy barn funck to be an A+ rip off, but its fine. palate: to thick not thin and spritzy enough. OA: way to go .. a good high school copy of a monet. you passed sasion brewing 101.

Light yellow color with white fluffy head. Aroma is sweet with spicy hops. Flavor is more of the aroma, with a somewhat funky finish. Overall very nice.

The appearance is golden yellow with a hazy body. A wonderful three finger head builds from lively carbonation. The head slowly fades back leaving nice lacing on the glass. Its aroma is fruity and floral, citrus and spice and every thing nice. The flavor of light malts, citrus and clove hits you first. Then earthy yeast and complementary citrus and floral hops leads you to a sweet and sour finish. Well balanced, medium body and very refreshing. Very well done, this one has turned me on to this style of beer.
