Super creamy head, nice black color. Dryish chalky roast aroma, creamy greens, with a light creamy body. Nice notes of rye and fresh coffee in the finish. Delicious. I’d love to session this one for a while, but not somewhere with such, err, loud music. Rciesla (4331), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

The aroma is coffee and burnt toast. The flavor is meaty and smoky and lightly fruity, while maintaining it’s dryness. This stuff was awesome. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 18, 2006 Draft at Princeton. Great looking stout that could easily pass for a creamy Guinness. Aroma is nutty and chocolaty. Taste has a lot of chocolate, maybe a bit too much dare I say. Dry but not dry enough but full flavored none the less. Not bad.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2004 Reminded me of coffee ice cream. Heavy, but not tremendously so. Good color, but not perfect fidelity of color (who wants that in a homey brew anyway). Not Guiness at all, and not terribly distinctive, but one of the better irish stouts I’ve had. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2005 Poured very dark brown with a thick off white head. Very creamy appearance with long head rentention. Smelled like bitter chocolate, coffee and espresso. Roasty. Tasted like bitter coffee and chocolate with a bitterness that worked pretty well. Very creamy palate which was not overdone on the roastiness. Overall this was a good session stout. egajdzis (3726), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of smoke, chocolate, macadamia nuts, and roasted malts. Taste of chocolate, caramel malts, nuts, and a bitter roasted finish. MaltDawg (986), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Very dark brown with creamy head off a nitro tap. Roast malts and a bit of smoke in the flavor. Clean dry lightly bitter finish. Great sessionable beer. My favorite of the evening, very well done.
