| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2010 Bottle. Pours very dark with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavor of slightly burnt malt, a little hop bitterness, some caramel and chocolate. Nice bittersweet finish. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. A solid beer, particularly for the price. basspro76 (266), New York, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 22, 2010 Tastes like a porter more then a black and tan. Burnt malt and roasted chocolate come through on the taste, but the flavors taste fake, almost processed. ExpendableHero (72), Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 21, 2010 I love this black and tan. Has a rich chocolate smell to it, and a dark coloring, very dark brown. Drank straight from the bottle. One of my favorite local grocer brews. The taste is a slightly bitter chocolate one that goes down extremely smooth. Yuengling knows it’s stuff. Silencio305 (14), Miami, USA

| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Feb 8, 2010 Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Taste is burnt malt and a bad sourness. I am harsh on dark brews, but this is unaceptable. I have had the premium and liked it, so it must be their porter that I don’t like. Uglyradio (791), Greenville, South Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2009 Poured from the tap to a dark brown atop the golden lager, with one finger tan head that lingered well and left okay lacing. Aroma was muted, but was mildly malty roasted nuts, toffee and slightly spicy. Mouthfeel slightly tingly and pleasant, and the taste sightly accentuated the flavors of the nose. Finish was fairly long, and decent, not watery like some lower price dark beers tend to be.
Not bad at all, especially given the price. elgiacomo (154), Chickamauga, Georgia, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Pours dark amber/brown with one-finger off-white head. Aroma and flavor aren’t terribly impressive...light roasted malts, light coffee & toffee. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated. Not terribly impressed, only saving grace is the price. Used to letting porters warm a bit, but this one is best served cold.
