Aroma of green apples, caramel and diacetyl and a little of an old stale pub aroma that I find endearing but I am not sure what it is. Straight ahead flavor of malt and caramel and a fair amount of butterscotch with a little bitterness in the end. A bit tart with some chalkiness also. Well balanced, clean and easy to drink. Sweet nutty caramel malt aroma, along with a hint of fruit. Flavor is also sweet and malty, with a nice hoppy bittering finish. Medium mouthfeel. Pretty refreshing. jeremytoni (1290), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Amber in color with a disappearing small white head. Aroma has hints of caramel, sweet malts, and hops. I think I was expecting more from the flavor. There is some hop bitterness as well as some caramel malts. The problem is this beer is a little thin and doesn’t have enough flavor to keep it interesting. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 24, 2005 Flavoursome malt-driven English-style pale ale. Amber colour, large frothy head. Lively aroma, bursting with hops, caramel malt and biscuits. Medium-bodied and earthy. Caramel malts on the tongue and a dry bitter finish. However, it’s a fairly simple brew, with little of the complexity of some of their other ales. (Bottle) crazyvin (1276), New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 18, 2004 a light pale ale aroma was sweet with some caramel notes. Taste seem very plain just basic maltiness and a slight hop presence. After taste was hoppy with a slightly offenesive, kind fruit aspect. wunderbier (1272), Tampere, Finland
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 11, 2003 55 cL bottle, pint glass, 55 degrees F. Tall, creamy, off-white head is well lasting and sits on a clear brown-red body. Cookie, molasses malt (M); flowery hops (L); raisin and toffee aromas. Rich aroma is quite pleasant. Flavor shows hints of staleness and has a grainy aspect not present in the aroma. Lightly sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter, moderately acidic, lightly unclean finish. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: s'alright. carruthm (1272), Seattle, Washington, USA
