Here is the new Grimbergen beer. A strong beer, with a strong taste of alcohol. It comes like the Leffe 9° competitor

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2017 I guess it’s quite difficult to find this one right now... Actually, the ones I found were four months late after BBD, not sure if this really represents the original taste but anyway, I quite enjoyed it. Better than the Leffe Ritual, strong taste and abv but rather smooth in mouth. Low carbonation, but i’m not sure if it would have been the same at its optimal date. Too bad it’s not possible to find air anymore, why did they stop this one?? APPROVED BY TAVERNY’S BLACK METAL CREW!

Bottle. Clear golden with long lasting white head. Sweet malts, sugary, marzipan, vanilla, peach, light spicy. Sweet with alcoholic bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not as bad as I expected, quite like this.

Pours a clear golden color topped with a small white head. There is a strong wheaty aroma, with quite some yeasty smell, some alcohol - not that pleasant. The taste is sweet and malty, not strong with only slight what present. Surprisingly nice.

25cl bottle. Clear golden with a white foamy head. Medium body with low carbonation. Fruits, caramel and alcohol. A nice take on the regular blonde Grimbergen.

Bottle 0,25L. Clear amber colour with tiny ljght brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, hoppy herbs, grass and apple. Medium to full body, oily texture and flat carbonation with light bitter taste and long lasting aftertaste.

Bottle thanks to my uncle who brought this from holiday in France. Clear golden color, small white head. Smell malts, lightly sweet, raisins, plums. Taste malts, overripe fruit, plums, lightly raisins, sweetish. Medium body and carbonation.

Bottle. Aroma is sweet and malty with some banana notes. Tastes like a blonde. Hides the alcohol well

Fast gone indeterminate head over clear, metallic copper-orange beer. Heavy caramel nose, with a ’good’ shot of alcohol - pretty sweet-smelling, syrupy. Also a tad buttery and orangeconcentrate. Quite alcoholic taste, overlying caramel malts; again sweet, of course; touch of almonds and sugar-preserved oranges - but less complex than all that. Medium bodied, quite slick; feels well carbonated. Alsatian Grimbergen. ’nuff said. Merci à Stef!
