Commercial Description:
A hophead’s dream beer. This Imperial India Pale Ale has an opening salvo of mango, peach and citrus hop aromas that sit atop a pronounced caramel malt backbone. Although Dreadnaught is a strong and intensely hoppy ale, its complex flavors is both smooth and memorable. 9.5% ABV, 100 IBUs.

Bomber. Pours hazy, very orange copper with thin ivory head. The nose is lots of pineapple, mandarin orange, mango, wheat bread, and a wisp of alcohol. The flavor is more piney than the nose, but has a good dose of fruit as well-- grapefruit, various tropical fruits. It is a little bit woody in the middle, with some brown sugar sweetness. Bitter finish with grapefruit and some tannicity and a round alcohol warmth. Quite good.

A great imperial IPA. Syrupy body. Aroma of citrus and peach with a malty yet fruity flavor. Citrus and orange from the hops dominate both the aroma and flavor. Very drinkable.

22oz bomber into a goblet. Deep amber color, hazy, thin off-white head. Smells very piny and citrusy. Malty, grapefruit taste. Bitter, but not overly so. Thick mouth feel, a bit on the viscous side. Decent IPA from the midwest.

Resiny hop aromas, hints of grapefruits with tropical fruit notes. Pours a pale golden color. Bitter hops upfront, earthy bitterness with traces of pine, caramel malts. Pretty good.

Pours a cloudy light orange. Ginger, candy, and citrus on a very hoppy nose. Very bitter but well balanced with a hint of sweetness to it. I think I pick up some caramel or something. Sure, I like it.

Poured a golden amber with a big chunky head. The smell was the best part, big sweet citrusy hops dominated, and kept you going back for more. Taste was also big and hoppy, but seriously, with all the hype, I felt it kind of finished on a thud. Don’t get me wrong, this was an "A" beer, but I was expecting something more. Mouthfeel was a little light, but overall very drinkable, i’ll have another.

Bomber bonused via trade with phaleslu, thanks again Peter!!!! Pours a moderately hazy coppery amber with a 1 finger creamy off white head that has great retention and leaves respectable sheets of lacing. Aroms is full of citrus, pineapple, mango, a hint of peach, plenty of creamy caramel, a little biscuit, straw, a little grass and a vanilla like sweetness. Fantastic aroma. Flavor is sweet, creamy caramel, toasted grain, biscuit, sweet malt, grass, sweet citrus, red grapefruit, blood orange, vanilla pudding and light mineral notes. Finish is somewhat bitter citrus, caramel, vanilla, burnt sugar and a lingering mineral and sweet tropical fruit fade. Palate is medium bodied with a creamy entry moderate slightly prickly carbonation and slightly creamy, mostly dry finish. Just a fantastic beer, another great brew from Three Floyds.
