Commercial Description:
Brewed with dark roasted barley and oatmeal for a very rich flavor and aroma. The oats provide greater mouth-feel, smoothness and foam quality for this stout. Past silver medal winner at "GABF".

Nice and dark with a good head. No particular smell that I get. Taste is bizzare. I agree with Cougar, sour and watery body. Disappointing.

Sweet malty plum aroma turns into a disappointing sour watery body. Pleasant roasted finish, but this should be stoutier, if that's a word.

RERATE: Picked up a ’fresh’ sample at the brewery today in my travels. Appears about the same with very little head. Very malty aroma and still a slight sour/silage aroma. Decent caramel and roasted malt flavors. This one must not age well. Original Rating 12/12/02 Overall ’8’ Nearly opaque brown. Earthy oak and light coffee aromas. Smallish tan head. Quite thin in feel. Fleeting malt flavors that go right to a vinegar sourness and mouth puckering finish. Definately Contaminated.

This beer pours as dark as...as...a really dark thing. Smells like a particularly watery coffee. Taste is malty, and a little sweeter than I’d expected. Not a very thick or flavorful beer.

nice dark beer. Palate is good, but not great. I wouldn’t drink it all the time, but wouldn’t pass one up at the bar.

On tap this beer is pretty damn good. Its not quite as thin as it was from the bottle. And the flavor was better.

The smell is extremely good, as is the appearance. But to describe the taste in one word, I would say - lacking.

Very thin stout. The bottle was cool though.
