Commercial Description:
The blackberries we use in Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier are perfect for this brew. They deliver a subtle sweetness that balances the traditional citrus flavors from the witbier. The blackberries used in Samuel Adams Blackberry Witbier are sourced from family farms, located at the foot of the Oregon Trail and Cascade Mountains in Western Oregon, where they have been growing some of the best blackberries in the world for centuries. By bringing the blackberries, orange and coriander together with an appealing malt character and a spiciness from the hops, we’ve brewed a flavorful beer with a smooth finish that’s both sweet and tart. Samuel Adams® Blackberry Witbier is brewed with two-row Harrington and Metcalfe malted barley and generous portions of malted wheat. The malted barley and malted wheat provide the beer with its light body while the coriander and orange give the beer its citrus like aromas. We’ve also added some Oregon Marion blackberries, to give the brew a perfect balance between its subtly sweet and tart flavors.

12oz bottle. Pours a bright darkish yellow golden color with a big foamy white head. Nose is syrupy fruit, light berries, some sweet malt notes. Palate is medium bodied and fizzy. Flavor is berries and some light sugary ntes but finishes with a dryness.

Bottle pours hazy yellow gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light and delicate with notes of blackberry, wheat, coriander, and a slight amount of orange. Flavor shows the same. Overall body is light, sweet, and somewhat tart. Carbonation feels a little more aggressive on this one as well. I actually like this better than their other wheat beers when i’m in the mood.

Bottle. Pours a light golden amber. Nose is wheaty with a hint of dark fruit. A bit of a creamy mouthful with some nice wheat notes. The berry adds some swet and almost tart notes.  Being I hate the style this one nice and drinkable for me. Interesting and pretty good.

12 oz bottle from TC Craft. Cloudy orange pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma and flavor are exactly what you’d expect from a beer with this name, blackberries and wheat. Finish has some hoppiness and some spice coming through. Nothing earth shattering but a pretty decent beer.

Bottle. Poured a hazy pale with a creamy off-white head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Aroma of blackberry with a wheat background. The flavor was flipped with wheat and a blackberry background. Light body, fizzy carbonation, and a wheat aftertaste.

An ok beer that didn’t leave you thinking anything special. Had the fruity taste you would expect but, the after taste kind of screwed it up.

Smells lightly of Blackberries. Taste is blackberries upfront with a pleasant wheat aftertaste. Goes down incredibly refreshing.
