Clear gold colour with a decent head and good bubbles. Loved the flavour as it was a big surprise...hoppy bitterness mixed with a passing hint of it’s Belgian beginning. Sharp then softening palate. After a few run of the mill Stone beers recently this brought me right back to where I like to be. Dark gold, slightly hazy, thin but lasting white head. Mineral and spice in the aroma, lots of orange and mandarin with some awesome hops that are typical of Stone. Flavour follows on well. Big citrus, excellent hops and a really good cheesy funk to it. Big fruity and bitter finish. Good beer. leems (150), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2009 22oz bottle from John’s, golden pour with a thin white head. Traditional Belgian aromas of yeast and coriander but with a kick from the hops. Flavor is yeast, citrus hop, coriander, and a little spice. I should pick up another to cellar before August 9th. bobinlondon (859), Harrow, Greater London, England
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Bottle at the Rake. Gold with a fluffy white head. Not as hoppy as I’d like but what there was was fresh and pungent. Better than most Belgian tripples I’ve sampled. noncaloric (684), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Pours a clear gold with a small white head, no real lace or effervescence. Strongly floral hops aroma nicely complements an abbey yeast backdrop and a little caramel. Flavor begins with a variety of fruit flavors, citrus, pineapple, apricot, apple peel, with some ginger-clove spice and heat. Lightly caramelized mid-palate, the grain is a bit husky, a slight flaw, finishing with more pineapple, more bitter here on the finish, lingering floral elements. Spritzy, stimulating palate, medium body, pronounced alcohol warmth. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA

This Belgian strong has everything you love in Belgian beer, nice fruit overtones and a great flavor, but sticks out from the crowd by providing a nice hop kick in the finish. Very good. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 25, 2009 Tallahassee - on tap at Proof - part of the Stone Brewing tasting. Pours a dark golden with a thick creamy white head which leaves nice lacing on the glass. Sweet aroma with lots of floral accents, some banana as well. When I tasted it - kept thinking of the song "Grapefruit Juicy Fruit" by Jimmy Buffett - those are the two flavors that come to mind. hints of candied sugar in the back end with a hint of caramel. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Overall, excellent. ajbitt (46), , Indiana, USA
