Expensive($15) bomber found in Evansville, pours a hazy, caramel amber body that has an orange glow. Small beige head subsides into sticky lacing. Bold aroma boasts a plethora of hops. Vague grapefruit, earthy, grassy, floral, and spicy. Just a hint of caramel. Taste follows suit. Just enough of a malt presence to provide an ideal balance. Earthy and floral hops dominate, with but a hint of citrus. A floral/herbal presence emerges as it warms, probably the jasmine. Very artfully constructed, overall. No hint of alcohol until a buzz after finishing the bottle. A wonderful exhibition of how to showcase hops while keeping bitterness in check. I’m surprised at the mediocre ratings for this anniversary ale.

Bottle purchased in Indianapolis in 2008, shared at March 10 tasting. Orange/red with fizy white head, citrus, piny and caramel nose, slight oxidation. Big caramel flavor, moderate/mild bitter with some chocolate. Can tell it’s past its prime, but decent still.

From bottle courtesy of dpjuart. Nice hoppy aroma, caramel with aged notes, light oxidation. Sweet nose with not much bitterness. Medium amber orange clear with thin white head. Medium body with medium-light carbonation. Starts with medium sweetness, caramel, stale hops and honey. Light oxidation. This one is probably a little past its prime.

A: A clear, rich amber color with a fluffy white head. S: Pretty malty, nice caramel scent to it. Hops are orange and a fruity sweetness. T: Grapefruit and orange as far as the hops go. The hops subside fairly quickly and then the malty takes over. The finish is slightly resinous and bitter. M: Smooth and medium bodied. D: A pretty good beer, but I was expecting a lot more from a Three Floyds Anniversary ale.

Thanks to deyholla for the bottle! I think I missed out on this one as its over a year old now. It pours orange witha small disappearing off white head. the aroma is big on caramel, toffee, honey, and orange. The flavor is honey, toffee, and caramel in that order. Orange and a dash of lemon in the finish. Not very bitter and low carbonation. This was definitely past its prime, but still a nice treat.

Bottle. Orange, lemon, and floral (jasmine I assume) aroma. Amber color with small head. Sweet orange malt and light lemon grass hops. Smooth drinking with mild hops. I like it but probably wouldn’t be a favorite of hops lovers.

Hazy orange with a medium sized white head. Sweet aroma with oranges, malt, pine and hoppy notes. Flavour was sweet and peachy with hops, pine and malty notes. Finished bitter.

Bottle, i wasn’t crazy about the X, and this kinda followed the same path. A copper golden body with an off white head. Big dusty spicy jasmine notes, stale dust y hop character, some floral pine and spice notes. Loads of caramel and malt y warming. Decent.

A murky dark orange color with almost no head. Aroma of caramel sweetness. Full bodied and lots of sweet flavor. Hop profile is somewhat muted and is not a profile I particularly care for. Reminds me of that rubbing alcohol sort of experience. Getting hints of sticky resiny pine but on overdrive. Malt profile is nice with all the caramel and toasty grains.
