05.07.05 750ml bottle thanks to Eyedrinkale at Heavyweight open house. Cobwebs and pears. Sherry, old. Medium bodied. Lots of sherry and some more musty cork. I really dig these older brews.

Cloudy brownish orange, luxurious dense white head. Tangy, citrusy aroma, with some woodsy notes, too. Nicely spicy, nicely citrusy, I get some cinnamon, as well. Nice lemony notes. Very nice stuff.

Pours orange copper with a massive beige head and a fruity malt aroma. There is a rich caramel malt flavor with some citrus and spice.

A golden ale with a thick creamy off white head. A light creamy malt aroma, with light catnip and herbs. In mouth, a smooth crisp malt, with coriander, a bit oxidized, light and smooth, medium bodied....but this didnt age very well. Bottle was about 1 year old. Bieropholie import.

draft at Lord Hobo in Cambridge, MA. Pours a foamy coppery brown color with a small fizzy head. Nose is light spices like pepper and a bit of toasted malt with some caramel. Palate is medium with a nice effervescent presence and a really solid, flavorful finish. Flavors of light caramel, yeast, grass notes. hints of barnyard in the nose.

750ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Winter beers 2009)
Opens with a small worm of foam. Sharp and acidic first aroma, sharp fruits. Pleasant carbonation, heading towards the lively. Aroma has butter, and the taste has artichoke dip. Sounds spoiled, but there’s a very nice beer in here trying to get out. Fantastically dry taste. Nettly in places. Finish really malty. A very welcome burntness in the finish to round this off.

Sampled on BQ2010. Bottle. Pours a well carbonated body with nice fizzy head and a good amount of sediment. Aroma is sweet cherry and some other fruit. Mouthfeel is pleasant with some soft notes of tart and cherry.

Tap @ RnH - Pours dark brown/black with red highlights. Hints of coffee and nuts in the nose. Taste of coffee dark toffee malts and some spice. It’s smooth with springy carbonation. Finishes with some bitter astringency which throws off the balance unfortunately.
