UPDATED: MAR 23, 2024 Pour is a dark amber red with a large tan head. Aroma is molasses and sugar covered plumbs. Flavor is sweet tootsie roll molasses malts with some dark fruit. A minor complaint is that the mouthfeel is a bit thin but otherwise this is a fine Doppel from France.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2024 Klare rötlich bräunliche Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht röstmalziger Geruch mit Karamell. Geschmacklich malzig, leicht röstmalzig, brotig mit Karamell und getrockneten Früchten. Hohe Süße mit leichter Bitterkeit, voller Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

UPDATED: NOV 18, 2023 Pours clear, dark mahogany with a one finger, light beige head. Aroma is dried fruit, caramel, roast and bread. Taste is caramel and raisin, moving to roast and bready malt. Finish is sweet raisin bread.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2023 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark mahogany with moderate foamy head. Aromas of caramel, metallic bready malts and dark fruits. Flavors of bready malts, a little copper and some sweet raisins. A malty doppelbock.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2022 0.2 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', best before September 2023. Clear, dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, nuts and some chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter taste of caramel, nuts and some chocolate, followed by a short, gently bitter, a little roasty finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very solid Bock.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2022 Colore rosso bruno e la schiuma abbondante color nocciola. Il profumo è di malti tostati, caramello e toffee. In bocca è morbida e vellutata, si avvertono sentori dolci come miele, poi caramello, frutta secca e marzapane ma con finale amarognolo. Il corpo è medio, molto gradevole da bere.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2022 Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is caramel, brown malt, touch of toffee of raisins. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light bitterness. Body is medium. Solid Bock, pretty robust.
