JW77 graciously gave me a bottle of this. Pours a super dark brown with a short lived tan head. Aroma is citrusy and some melon notes to go along with a light roasted nut smell and caramel. Flavor is nice and hoppy, moslty mandarin orange mixed with some hop bitterness.

Draft from Craft. Pours mahogany blackish with tan head. Nose is dark malty, hoppy, very piney, with dark choc notes. Tastes crisp, dark malty with heavy resiny hop notes, pine nuts, dark choc, and some spicy notes. Finishes strong, with the dark malt/piney hop tandem working well. The best 21st Amendment beer yet, and another innovative and solid offering from these guys. Get ya some, and do it today.

Tap @ The Eastburn... Poured a cloudy, near black with a white head. Fair amount of lacing. Hoppy nose with a slight roast. Good piney and citrus hops on this brew and lots of malt coming into play. Creamy with almost a pepper and bread spiced quality for balanced.

On tap at Stub & Herbs. Poured near black with a thin near white head. Aroma had a mainly pine note with slight undertone of dark grains. Flavor is more balanced with pine hops and a sweeter grain flavor.

Nondescript aroma; just alcohol and some sweetness. Dark reddish brown with a tan head. Sheet lace. Much darker than your typical ipa, hence the name. Hops evident. Alcohol subdued. Nice and pleasant if nothing spectacular. A little thin but at least as good as I’d hoped.

whether there is such a thing as a Black IPA, for a "non-style" it’s damn lovely stuff. My go to when I am in the 21a. I really enjoyed this. Dark lager to look at, IPA body, with hops of a brassy american IPA! Great work Jesse!

Tap. Dark cola pour with a white head. Aroma of nut and roasted malts. Taste is creamy flat, mild hop profile, and some slight fruit character. Really good stuff.
