On tap at 2009 Brewgrass Festival in Asheville NC.
Clear dark yellow with a lasting off-white head.
A big improvement over #20!
Lots of piney hop aroma in this.
Nice firm resiny bitterness that provides what was expected from the aroma.
Enough alt to balance, yet squarely a hop forward IPA.

Jan 14, 2010 Hop Project 21 Bottle. Pours clear amber gold with a nice frothy off-white head. Aroma of dank hops, pine resin, grapefruit and bud. Taste is more of a straight forward bitterness rather than a sweet pineapple sweet hop like a lot of the HP’s. I am a big fan of the fresh hop addition and think it is one of the best IPA’s I’ve ever had. Finish is resinous.

Dec 13, 2009 Word to some wicked out of town guests who left a 4 pack of this baby as a thank you gift. Bottled as hop project #21. Pours a cloudy dark orange almost brown color with a tinge of white head around the rim of the glass. Big grapefruit aromas smoothly flowing into the flavor as well. Nice bubblegum flavor in there as well. All Amarillo hops here apparently. Smoothed out and balanced nicely with a nice caramel malt back bone and a little bit of sweetness. The finish is bitter grapefruit hoppiness. Pretty tasty.

Nov 29, 2009 @Knoxville Brewers Jam-on tap-pours a thin off white head that laces and copper color. Aroma is citrus-lemon/pine hops, some medium malt. Taste is citrus-lemon/pine hops with some bite, sweet medium malt. Good effervescence.

Nov 1, 2009 Dark amber-brown with a lumpy rocky off white foam. Aroma is herbal fresh hops, thick hop aroma, grassy and citrus. Taste is coating almost syrupy hop oils, fresh wet herbal hops and caramel malts.

Oct 28, 2009 Draft at JClydes, Birmingham. Copper with a nice little lasting head. Aroma is spicy resin, citrus and caramel. Flavor is similar with some spicy-peppery grass and wood as well. LIght-medium body is smoothish, tingly and finishes well dry.

Glass:Pint.
Appearance:Hazy red/amber pour with a thin off white head.
Aroma:Citrus and a hint of caramel. Mainly grapefruit rind and pine.
Flavor:Grapefruit dominates the flavor. Excellent fresh hop flavor.
Palate:Medium body with solid carbonation.
Overall:Excellent beer. Love the fresh hop beer.

Actually entered this, and then forgot to rate it. On tap at the taproom. Poured a slightly hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of sweetish malt and some floral hops. Flavor was very vinous, with a good malt balance. This isn’t much more than a fresh hopped version of their pale ale (Amarillo hops used in both), but a much better beer in my estimation.

Oct 5, 2009 Pours a lacing, beige had with a clear, copper body. Grapefruit, pineapple, resin aromas. Ditto for flavor. Some bitterness. Dry.
