Draft at The Bruery Reserve Society Initiation party. Amber. Sweet candi sugar, butterscotch. Taste- very sweet, butterscotch, dried apricots, figs, spicy, citrus. Finishes alcohol, then lingering dried fruits.

From Stefanje via trade. The pour was brown with reddish highlights. An almost one-finger tall, off-white head appeared along with flecks of lace. The aroma was dark fruit, bubblegum, malt and some alcohol. Kind of musty? The flavor was malt, chocolate, tart fruit, earth and alcohol. The mouthfeel was almost medium in body with a finish that lingered just a bit.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deeper brown with amber notes and a medium lighter tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of molasses, dark fruits, brown sugar, pecans and Belgian yeast notes. Flavor of brown sugar, dark fruits, nuts, caramel and Belgian yeast.

Bottle:   Deep amber, rose hued, moderate to thin frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Brown sugar, maple syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, slight dark pitted fruit and basement.   Much more dark pitted fruit like sweetness on the tongue.   Subtle spices, malty, candy sweet.   Noticing a good dose of licorice, but its not sharp.   This is good.   The 11% is well hidden.   Body and mouthfeel is moderate to full.   Not as bubbley as others, but thats just fine.   Sweet candyish malt heavy finish.   Lingering candied dark pitted fruits.   This one was simply tasty!   Thanks Tim for this treat!

Really, a 91%? I don’t get it. Pours cloudy, dark red/brown with burgundy highlights and a medium sized, somewhat creamy, light brown head with some retention and no lace. Smells very sweet, overripe dark fruits, plums with some red fruit and a hint of alcohol. Tastes very sweet as well. Dark, ripe fruit and alcohol. Very sweet. Full body, good carbonation.

750mL bottle, purchased at Bottle Barn. Pours a murky, medium brown color; light tan head with solid retention and lacing. Sweet aroma of brown sugar and toasted pecans; sweet, malty, hidden alcohol. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: loads of maple syrup, smooth brown sugar, and lots of toasty pecans / nuttiness upfront; definitely sweet, complex (without being overly focused), and well-tempered in terms of alcohol; a solid, xmas-focused quad. Medium finish: maple syrup, brown sugar, moderately sweet without stickiness.

Good, but too sweet. Pours a murky brown with tan head. Aroma is pear and malt. Notes of plum and ripe cranberry. Finishes as sweet as it starts. Lots of sugar. This would be nice if it weren’t so damn sweet! The heart is in the right place on this one, but the sugar is just too much.
