| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2009 A reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. A light grassy and sweet malt in aroma, caramelly. In mouth, a sweet ale with loads of residual sugars, a light licorice, overall, would need a bit more aging. On tap at brewpub August 3 2009. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 22, 2009 In short: A slightly spicy and dusty/dry yeasty approximate ale of some kind. Kind of drinkable actually.
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark golden body topped by a small off-white ring of foam
In long: Nose is a little spicy with light notes of cinnamon/cloves/etc family. A very yeasty beer with a dry and floury mouthfeel sensation. Dried fruits and not-so-clean earthy fruits flavours pierce here and there through the dense caramel candy layer. Described as a “Saison Sour Ale”. Could barely pass as a Saison but trying to pass this as a Sour Ale is insulting. If the growing number of Sour Ale lovers get their hand on the brewer we will have ourselves a case of poetic justice. PilsnerPeter (2862), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Tap at the Brewpub: Listed as "Saison Sour Ale" Pours a cloudy amber with a wispy light tan head. The aroma is fruity/phenolic, bitter fruit skin notes, and dusty character. A bit thin and fizzy cabrbonation. The flavor has some bitter fruit skin and earthy sharpness. A bit plasticy as well. A little off. Unimpressive, and not very Saison-like.
