Lovely deep golden in colour, looks good. Quite appley on the nose. The palate has a good fruit/acid balance and although it’s quite full bodied, it’s also clean and refreshing. Good quality cider, Morrisons.

Bottle. Golden cider with a light head. The aroma is quite dry and vinous and the flavour is vinous, warming and quite bitter. Overall a very nice cider.

Bottle from Sainsburys, as Sheppy’s Vintage Reserve Oak Matured Summerset Cider. Sour apple, wood and alcohol very present. Metallic and sharp finish. Nah.

Bottle from Sainsbury, Kidlington, 02-07-09 Pours lemony gold with fast disappearing white head. Oak is present on nose. Good tangy cider, the apples have been softened out by the oak aging. Very, dry at the end with tannins settling around the gums. Easy drinking despite the abv, nicely tangy, not too sharp, good apple and oaky combination. I really liked this and was a touch dismayed to see that it hadn’t scored higher than it has. A7 A4 F8 P4 Ov15 3.8

75cl bottle, 2006 vintage, still version. Funky with a pronounced aroma and smell of stable. Gueze-like, but with less acid, which makes for a sweeter and heavier drink. Would be better carbonated.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Deep gold with little carbonation. Aroma of tart apples with some yeast. Flavour had plenty of apple juice, but lacked the character of the other ciders sampled from this producer, ending with a run of the mill dryness. Given the ABV, this lacked character.

Bottle. Golden with low carbonation. Aromas are appletise with some yeast and mustiness. Hints of caramel with alcohol. Flavours are apple juice with citrus acidity. Dry on the finish. Decent.
