(Bottled) Clear, dark, very deep red color with a medium, tight and tanned head. Slightly sour, fruity aroma with a hint of sugary sweetness. Sweetish, toffee-malty flavor with some fruit. Sugary, slightly sticky finish. Hides the ABV well. Smooth, low-carbonated, medium to full-bodied, warming, slightly liquourish, but not alcoholic palate. A straightforward, sweetish, but quite an enjoyable, easily drinkable and warming brew.

Draft in Diest at a corner brown café, which was non-smoking if you can believe it. Yet it was still very brown. So was the ale, with a reddish tint and lacy tan head. Nose was malty and fruity, with red fruits like berries, maybe faint passion fruit. Bit like a Scotch ale aroma. Mildly sweet flavor, very light bitterness, with solid caramel malt character showing through. A touch warming. Pretty drinkable. One of the better Haacht beers I’ve had. Also the mood and time and place were right.

Dark amber colour, small diminishing off white head. Fruity aroma with some malts. Sticky sweet flavor with fizzy carbonation. Watery palate. Average belgian ale.

Draught: Poured a dark brown with little to no white head. The aroma was sugary and sweet. The taste is a mix between fruit and roasted malts, the finish was sum what sugary. Very pleasing beer with my stake in Belgium.

Bottle. Coppery brown with no head. Little aroma with a hint of wet dog. Medium body with plenty of carbonation. Sweet dark malt with some spice and bitterness in finish. It’s good but doesn’t really impress; perhaps my palate is jaded.

Dark ruby with a lasting off-white head. Weak fruity and malty aroma. Sweetish flavour with molasses, some fruit and malt and a hint of licorice. Dry finish.
