Bottle shared among friends poured into tulip glasses produced a two finger white head, which leaves behind great lace. The body of the brew was a clear (didn’t stir up the dregs in the first glass) apricot to gold yellow.
It was amazingly fragrant tons of cascade hops aroma filled my head. The flavor of honey hits your lips first then followed by a nice hop bitter finish a great IPA in my book. It had a medium feel in my mouth with good carbonation for the tongue.
Very drinkable we polished of or glasses rather quickly and was left wanting more. Another good brew from Ithaca

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2010 750 ml bottle batch E013. Pours a cloudy orange amber color with a medium off-white head. The aroma is herbal, floral with light to moderate maltiness. The flavor leans heavily toward the herbal and floral hoppiness, but the bitterness is medium at best. Biscuity malts with hints of caramel and honey. Citrus flavors come through more in the finish. Medium bodied, dry, with a noticeable hop presence without becoming all about the bitterness. This one was a nice surprise.
Rating #70 for this beer. zach8270 (2268), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2010 (bottle - 750 ml) Hazy gold color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is very floral and bitter with a light touch of sweetness from the honey. Nice and citrusy from the hops. Flavor is grassy and herbal at the start with a dry and bitter hop middle. The honey is rather subtle but leaves a light touch of sweetness at the end and a very bitter and dry finish. FROTHINGSLOSH (2135), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2010 Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a very hazy golden color with a huge yellow-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was citric and floral hops and was a touch dry. The flavor was dryish and tart with strong grassy, grapefruity and floral hops and faint touches of orange, must and yeastiness. The finish was long and grapefruity. Fairly full bodied. The grassiness did not appeal to me. Interesting. Damico (291), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 8, 2010 The aroma of sweet alfalfa honey with the hops is nice but too subtle. The appearance is a wheat ale with orange sunset tones in the light. The flavors of a hoppy IPA dominates with bitterness over sweetness. The bitter lingers on the tongue for a bit... jb (1119), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 26, 2010 Hazy dull yellow color, very fluffy, home-brew-like head, white, leaves all kinds of residue. Big American hop nose, a bit biscuity, some citrus, some pine, nuts. Resin-filled mouthfeel, pine sap, nice malty presence, very heavy palate, plenty of hops, but plenty of malt to cover, just the way I like my IIPA’s. Nice stuff. blankboy (3394), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2010 Draught at Coles, Buffalo, NY. Odd looking, but in a good way, it pours a murky yellow-orange with a small diminishing white creamy head. Looks like grapefruit juice. Aroma of juicy citrusy hops and grapefruit -- not much else but it’s lovely. Fresh, juicy citrus hop flavour along with plenty of grapefruit -- one dimensional but delicious. Medium bodied. Great stuff, I loved it. MAP (1099), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2010 Pour is a nice slightly murky golden with a creamy foam head. Aroma is loaded with the spicy sweetness form the alpha hops, it even smells overloaded with essential oils. To flavor comes off as quite crisp and thin, good floral flavoring with it and a clean finish. MartinT (5138), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2010 My Bottom Line:
This fluffy Double IPA’s floral, citrusy and coniferous hoppiness blooms atop bready yeast and delicately honeyed sweetness, providing sustained bitterness and a very refreshing drinking experience.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A tall foam hat sits atop the cloudy straw blond.
-The mouthfeel is more akin to a Belgian-style Strong Ale than your typical Double IPA. I was actually reminded a Charlevoix’s Lupulus, for example...
-Alcohol is very well hidden.
-The finishing hop bitterness is rather resinous and spicy.
Bottle. Thx Steve!
