Commercial Description:
In the words of our President and founding father, Russ Klisch, "Klisch Pilsner is a meat and potatoes beer," meaning that though there are no darker specialty grains used to influence the color or texture of this beer, it is nonetheless a full-bodied satisfying all-malt brew. The recipe is simple, but how it is put together is what gives this beer its complexity. The deep golden color and malty flavor come from an ample amount of domestic malted barley and imported hops. The addition of Saaz hops added at the end of a two-hour boil gives the beer a wonderful balance with the accent on the hops.

Firm aroma of light malt backed by noble hop. Much better than a typical American macro. Orange tinged golden color with a bubbly white head. Near medium body with mild, almost creamy, carbonation. The flavor is light malt, and near citrus hop. Of course it’s not citrus, but there is so much hop for this style. The finish is neither sweet nor dry, and the hop builds a little. Very clean. I agree, the accent is on the hops. All the comment on strength is compared to a typical American macro, not a crafted IPA. Anyway I was pleasantly surprised by this lager.

Interesting aroma of pickle relish and gueuze. Solid yellow color. Chewing gum, dust, and cardboard flavors. Watery at the end. Very curious and different.

Bottle: Pale gold color, light white head and some lacing. The nose is grassy, some tin and light pilsner malt. The flavor is toasty with a light sweetness, moderately hoppy flavor, lacking some bitterness. Minerally finish and a grainy character to accentuate the over extracted malts and light hop spread.

Bottle Pours a very light pale hazy golden color witha brief fizzy head. After a moment there is nothing left for lacing. Aroma is light sweet malts mostly, with honey and bread notes. Flavor is butter honey toast and a little hops. Aftertaste is soft woody flavor with just a little hops bitterness. Not bad for a pilsner. Quite drinkable. Thanks to MrFacto for this one.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with Jcapriotti (thanks!). Bottle labeled bottled during Jul WK4. Poured a lighter and slightly hazy golden color with a smaller sized with head. Aromas of grain, wet grass and light citrus. Tastes of grain and light citrus with a light grassy finish. Thinner body.

12 oz. bottle from the variety 8 pack - Pours a clear golden color with a one finger thick white head. Aroma is light grain and noble hops. Flavor is also light grain and hops. Not a lot of flavor here. Light to medium body. A smooth, easy drinking Pils.

I love this brewery. This is not my favorite Lakefront product, though. Decent, average, drinkable...I can’t work up a lot of enthusiasm for this one...can you tell? Try their Fuel Cafe or Pale Ale.
