Commercial Description:
2008. Created by homebrewer Alex Drobshoff. Alex’s Brew is a bright copper German inspired bock with a complex, full bodied mouthfeel. Hints of rich plum and cherry aromas paired with its toasty, malt flavor make this the perfect beer to linger over on a cool evening.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a dark cream colored head. Rich malt aroma with light darker malts. Malt and caramel flavor with light mineral and light citrus. Medium bodied. Very clean and easy to drink. Caramel and light mineral linger.

Brown color with a thin head. Malty aroma. Munich malt, caramel and a very light roasted malt taste. There is almost this odd burnt tire bit coming out. Not bad at all.

(bottle) medium copper-brown with generous tan head. Malt aroma. Fairly sweet toasted malt flavor. A bit on the sweet side for my taste.

Nice dark cola color. Aroma was malty and had a hint of banana. Flavor had a bitter maltiness, yeasty, and a hint of alcohol. Nice bock and a fairly decent offering from Sam Adams.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of malts, caramel, slight butterscotch, nuts, and some toasting. Poured brown/copper/deep amber in color with a small, creamy, off-white/tan head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of nuts, malts, light caramel, slight alcohol, and toasted grains. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Nutty, malty, sweet, caramel finish is lightly dry.

Lots of flavor in this bock. Very sweet on the nose and tongue. Quite a full range of malty notes. Maybe a little high in the alcohol. Nice beer.

The malt character on this is quite fruity, and only occasionally seems to tip over into pruniness (which I despise). Quite good, really.
