Bitterness is not overwhelming, allowing the hop flavoring and subtly roasted flavor to make their way through. Slightly dry finish. Not a favorite style of mine, but a pleasant drinking experience nonetheless. beastiefan2k (1650), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA

The aroma is hopy, not floral or bitter but definitly hoppy. Body is light, color is light copper. Finishes with a nice bit of bittering. I would think that maybe the macro drinkers may not find this offensive. Overall, for its style I think its good. willblake (2256), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Aromas are biscuity, light grassiness, fresh bread; flavors incorporate these plus a big dose of caramel. Decent beer that doesn’t get boring, yet not too thrilling either. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA

Deep red-copper color, good nose and fairly complex malty taste though not as hearty or flavorful as it’s imported cousins. Sampled again to check in and enjoyed just the same. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Medium bodied, flavors of slightly sweet malt. Finish is more bitter than expected, but not unpleasant. Solid offering. Veeve (312), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2005 poured a clear orangish-amber. with a very thin, fizzy white head that didn’t last long at all. tasted mildly bitter. much more mild than I expected. in fact - there was sweetness to it like Life cereal/cinnamon sugar. light on the cinnamon heavy on the sugar. and caramel. aroma just smelled of hops. not bad for what it is. Bready nose with some great Fuggly funk, a bit of hot rubber, caramel, and stylish yeast. Very English! Toffee and light milk chocolate in with some berry. Orange-amber body, clear with a lot of carbonation and a soapy white head. Taste of caramel and toffee with a very dry, chalky yeasty finish. Fruitiness form the Flying Fish house character. No Fuggles, but getting a candyish note closer to apple cider than candi sugar. Some light hay and dry white grape. Nice and woody. Mid-bodied. Not bad!
