They haven’t brewed this oone in some time and I hope they bring it back. Light straw color with a tall foamy white head. Typical clove and banana aroma and flavor. I believe they used a derivative of ’weihenstephaner’ yeast to obtain these.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 12, 2007 Heavy dose of cloves and wheaty sweetness but the orange peel factor seems overdone. I like its dry palate. For a retired beer, this one seemed to withstand time. Coopers in Scranton, PA has it on bottle. I really liked this one despite the maker! avalancher34 (38), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Dec 28, 2005 An OK attempt at the German Hefeweizen beer style. Most likely the best by an American brewer, but still not as good as the real McCoy. First things, first. Bananna in beer? Hmmm, interesting, but make it a little bolder and it could be dynamic (if you like banannas I guess) 1FastSTi (2638), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 16, 2005 Sampled on tap. This beer pours to a dense creamy thin white head that sits atop a lightly hazy light golden body. The aroma is nicely wheaty. Nutmeg or mace. Light banana’s foster. The flavor is white and richly banana’s foster. Unknown spice. Light toastiness. The palate is medium light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Not too bad and very drinkable despite the low scores. mybrainhurts (242), North Dakota, USA

Weak yellow pour, sluggish carbonation, and faint aroma. Absolutely nothing like a hefe should be. Poorly done. Just avoid.
UPDATE: I see they "retired" this. All I can say is....thank the gods! MIBRomeo (1990), Wisconsin, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 1, 2004 Lienes Fest: Filtered clear yellow with a lemony soda nose. Bubbly carbonation and thin body. Lemon and thin wheatiness, grassiness. No Hefe to speak of on initial taste, but as it warms some banana esters sneak through. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 22, 2004 Updated: Apr 4, 20072004 draft. Clear light yellow pour, small white head. Little to no aroma. What there is, has some soap, a bit of bitterness and maybe a squirt of lemon. Flavor is mildly sour, hint of lemon, no esters, banana, clove. Just a mildly sour, bland wheat flavor, with plenty of carbonation. Not fresh tasting, and more soapiness on the finish. At least it’s not too sweet.
