Nynäshamns ESB was interesting, not at all as I had expected. Initially I got a little vibe of a barley wine but then it got more flavors of yeast and something sweet, like honey. Not unlike an IPA in the end, bitterness tickled nice. anders37 (4915), Malmö, Sweden

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 15, 2009 Updated: Nov 17, 2009On tap at Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Pours a light amber color with a small white head. Fruity, toffee, caramel, spicey (yeasty) scent. There’s some light dried fruits together with some citrusy and grassy hops. Flavour is malty with toffee/caramel, dried fruits (plums), citrus, grass, some typical spicey yeast, some warming alcohol and a very light bitter finish. Mediumbodied, smooth mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Quite good beer but the typical Nynäshamn yeast is quite evident and so is the alcohol some sips. It needs some more bittering hops and should probably be better with that and maybe one percent less alcohol. If they get rid of the yeasty notes I wouldn’t complain either. With that said, this is still good stuff. oh6gdx (9296), Vasa, Finland
