UPDATED: JAN 1, 2020 This is a backlog rating from 2014 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are caramel, toasted malts, dark fruit, earthy, good.

phaleslu (16533) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 22, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2019 750 ml bottle from The WIne & Cheese Place. The date is faint, but I think it's a 2011 vintage. Bottle just says 'Alive!' but has the same star pattern as USAlive! and I've had it listed as such for years. Not sure the style fits - it says Belgian Wild Ale on the label - but that's not my call. It pours a mostly clear amber with two fingers of frothy off-white head that settle into a rocky, pillowy film and ring atop the liquid, leaving sticky lace in the glass. Notes of earth, caramel, toast, tea, funk, grass, straw, brown sugar, dried fruits, and cardboard. Medium-bodied, with modest carbonation and a malty, dry, sweet, toasty, earthy mouthfeel. Better than expected for a bottle I'd forgotten for the better part of a decade.

malibrat (888) - Pula, CROATIA - MAY 23, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 26, 2019 Pivo u flaši. Popijeno u Gourmet Shopu & Tasting Roomu 'Pötãman' u Premanturi. Ta kombinacija Tomahawh-Cascade-Amarillo daje jednu interesantnu herbalnu aromu , ko neko ljekovito bilje..

CanCrusher (2021) - Ilirska Bistrica, SLOVENIA - APR 19, 2019
UPDATED: APR 19, 2019 Bottle 0,33L. Clear bronze color with big, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, herbs, citruses, fruity and funky. Taste is medium bitter with funky touch at first, but this funky touch goes away soon and bitter, burnt caramel follows, with long lasting bitter aftertaste. Medium body, dry texture, lively carbonation.

DraftDodger (7617) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2019 Copenhagen 9/3 2019. 33 cl bottle from Mikkeller web-shop. Keith Shore drawing of a guy drawing in a glass of beer on the label. Pours murky, hazy dark amber with a very big yellowish head. Settles as a 6 cm thick crown of voluminous foam. Massive lacing. Aroma is perfumed, funky but with a solid malty and sweet base. Caramel, toffee and sweet malts. Tart, fruity notes of unripe berries and green apples. Distinct funky notes. Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, creamy texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a fairly strong, tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour and vinous. Finish is semi-dry. Nice ale with a distinct wild influence but manages to harness it.

DSG (25798) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - FEB 6, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2019 Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Clear deep golden. Oxidation, fruitiness, cardboard, caramel, candy, a bit of soapy brett, bitter finish, medium-bodied. Not my thing.
