Commercial Description:
So called because of the immediate ruinous effect on your palate. 100+ IBUs. Bracingly bitter. Thick, pungent hop aroma. We would say that no hops were injured in the brewing of this beer, but that would be a massive lie. In fact, the words "Stone Ruination IPA" are what older hop vines use to cause little hop vines to quiver with fright and lose sleep at night . We at Stone honor the brutal massacre of countless hops with this "Liquid poem to the glory of the hop!" Paganism at its best!

Aroma smacks of pine cone at first with subtle pear/apricot thrown in for good measure. Appearance is average overall with a coppery amber hue and an average sized, quickly dissapating head. The flavor is fruity sweet up front, dead in the middle, and almost grating on the finish - this is where all the hops are. I thought the body was a bit light for me and this brew is quite dry. The carbonation is lively but not overly fizzy. A good Imperial IPA although not my favorite.

I’ve had this beer both on tap and in the bottle. Words can’t describe how much I love this beer. This review describes it on tap. Average white head atop a light orange translucent body. The aroma is hoppy, floral, and magnificent. It dominates the palate afterwards like a fond pervasive memory on your tongue. Even the lacing is nice. It’s like liquid poetry.

Bottle. Wonderful aroma. May this is what all hop lovers should look for. This is a great sipping beer but more then one at a time is a little too much for a malt lover. I think the description says it all. Highly recommended.

Poured an amber body with a white head that faded to decent lacing. Aroma is, as expected, very hoppy with maybe a hint of cinnamon or citrus in the background. Taste is very hoppy. Starts off with a mild sweetness and zing from the carbonation that gives way to the full blown hops. Lingering bitterness that is slightly drying but wonderful. Palate is very silky and the carbonation gives a nice zing. Overall a very good beer if you like the hops.

I bought this at the Wholefoods beer store on Houston for 2.99. Smells amazing, tastes nearly as good. I drank their regular IPA, which I had previously considered to be very hoppy, right after this and found it somewhat watery in comparison. Not to say that’s necessarily better for everyone, but I prefer it.

Until now I have felt that the best IPAs came from the Pacific NW, Colorado, Delaware, and Downingtown, PA...that was until I had one of these Stone Ruination IPAs. This IPA is damn good!!!

650 ml bottle. From the US. HHOK blind tasting. Thanks Brandman.
Hazy amber colour with small to average white head. Strong hoppiness in aroma with pine/birch/wood, resin, grapefruit and some American hoppy sweetness. Flavour is dry hoppy with resin and sweaty birch (vihta). Long lasting hoppy aftertaste.
