COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Duff is a ruby colored smooth strong ale. It is a nicely balanced beer with rich fruity, and malt/roast malt flavors blending smoothly together(5.0 ABV). The beer is dark in color to reflect the Gaelic meaning of dark or black.

Nice lookin’ dark beer, thickinsh head leaving lines down the glass as I sup. Nose & palate both disappoint, not much to either. The finish has an almost tannic dryness which is a bit much.

Dark ruby coloured beer with a sweet caramelly coffee aroma, taste is malty with a smoked finish.

Bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with a ruby hue. The aroma is dry, smoky, fruity and malty. The taste is dry and smoky. Roasty and toasty. Bready and decent.

Didn’t know what to expect with this one as its presumably named after the Duff brewey on the Simpsons. If Homer likes it then so should I. Lovely dark brown appearance with no carbonation. Slightly dry and almost stout like. An excellent surprise.

I bought this beer last night, as a one-off thing, and I can admit I will be buying it again. Although it’s a bitter, it tastes like a stout, in my opinion. It has a the burnt, liquorice after-taste to it that a stout does, and the dark colour too. Overall a really nice beer.

Bottle. Dark amber/copper with a large off-white foam. Aromas are roast and chocolate malts with mollasses and earthy, spicy hops. Some sweet toffee and caramel. Flavours are chocolate and caramel malts with some roast character. Some nutty notes with liquorice. Dry towards the finish. Pretty good.

Aroma starts lightly sweet roasted vanilla, slightly treackle also. Taste is chocolate roasted malt, treackle again, a bit sweetish but balanced.
