Two Roses Reviews

Two Roses Pacifica Pale 3.5
Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Gloucester Beer Festival, 22/4/2016. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of citrus hops and fruit. Flavour had biscuity malts, and more orange fruit, leading to a decent, dryish, finish. Enjoyable.

Two Roses Heron Porter 3.3
Cask at The White Lion, Disley, Cheshire, £3.10/pint. Very dark brown beer with a thin but smooth, cream-coloured head that laces well. The nose is very light with muted sweet malts, dairy, chocolate and grain notes but nothing much forcing itself forward. The taste is much stronger and more present with sweet milk chocolate and bitter dark cocoa flavours combining to make a pleasant, easy-drinking porter.

Two Roses Heron Porter 2.9
[York Beer Festival, 2014] - Two Roses Brewery Heron Porter, 4.2%, dunkelbraun! noch leicht durchsichtig! leicht rötlicher Stich. Kaum Schaum.

Two Roses Heron Porter 2.8
Ruby brown body a few creamy head. Very bellow aroma, some bready malts perhaps. Extremely light. Not bad but I like to sell a beer. Taste is traditional too, light bitter, creamy. Really too mellow for me. Apparently there’s some alcohol in this, but I’d rather drink something that shows its backbone. Very creamy. That’s the best I can say. Oh and well crafted I think. It’s hard to say with so little flavour. (On tap at The Grove Inn during first Leeds visit)

Cask half-pint in the Craven Arms, Birmingham on 17th Sep 2014. Light amber with a white covering. The whole thing is just one huge toffee flavoured beer with more caramel type tastes than you can shake a big stick at. My sweet tooth loved it but it was too much for the wife, she had one sip and would not take another it being so sweet.

Two Roses Chinook 3.1
Lovely golden colour sadly lacking aroma wise. But on the plus side great head retention. And the chinook hops do there job just fine, with a long quite dry finish.
Sunday, March 16, 2014

Two Roses Chinook 2.2
On cask at London Drinker. Quite surprised to see relatively high reviews, and maybe this was a duff batch, but this was a bit of a mess. Clear off-copper appearance with a slightly acrid smell but a decent yeasty mound head. Taste was all over the place - a bit sweet but not enough bitterness and the hops were rough as well. Not convinced this is what chinook is supposed to taste like and I got zero grapefruit - more banana than anything. Feel bad leaving such a negative review - but it was ropey.
Thursday, March 13, 2014

Two Roses Two Counties 2.4
Deeper golden coloured bitter with a very thin head. It’s got a bushy aroma and taste - some but not much sweetness with a medium bitter aftertaste.
Friday, November 22, 2013
