The taste is firmly dry, bitter, pithy citrus, slightly soapy, grapefruit, floral, earthy, resinous and some toasty grain with a drying finish. Medium body and fine, foamy carbonation. Hippoman	3.3 Two Roses Heron Porter Cask at The White Lion, Disley, Cheshire, £3.10/pint. Very dark brown beer with a thin but smooth, cream-coloured head that laces well. The nose is very light with muted sweet malts, dairy, chocolate and grain notes but nothing much forcing itself forward. The taste is much stronger and more present with sweet milk chocolate and bitter dark cocoa flavours combining to make a pleasant, easy-drinking porter. Thursday, January 14, 2016

Schokolade und Haselnuss im Aroma, etwas Vanillin, nur ganz leicht wässrig, mittleres Mundgefühl. Minimale natürliche Kohlensäure. Trocken, etwas bitter im Antrunk! nach dunkler Schokolade, hopfigen Bitterstoffen, Röstmalzen. Keinerlei Süße. Zur Mitte noch deutlicher hopfenbitter, dazu Röstmalze. Letztere überwiegen in den Abgang, Schokolade ist allenfalls noch im Ansatz zu spuren. Espresoartiger Nachhall, anhaltend leicht bitter, durch die Bank sehr trocken.
