SilkTork	2.5 Magic Rock Saucery March 2024. Small can from LCB. It's certainly a wishy washy lager and lime style beer, but I think it's a little more flavoursome and interesting than I made it out to be four years ago. Or, possibly, the recipe has improved since then. It's not my thing, leaning a tad too much on bittering hops, and not putting enough weight behind the malt. But, the malt is decent enough, and there is some character and body here. [2.6] Sept 2020. Can from Tesco. A watery lager and lime with some bittering hops. Kind of dirty and rough. Not my thing. HogTownHarry	3.4 Magic Rock / Goose Island Magic Gander September 24, 2022 - at The Blackfriar - on handpull cask. Lovely pour - crystal clear refractive gold, solid white head and lacing. Simple light alcohol grainy aroma, something about that hop seemed a wee (heh!) bit urinal, but not horrid (7-). Taste is clean - light standard semi-sweet not very hopped golden ale - drinkable, not amazing. Light body and carbonation, quick finish, not much aftertaste. Sunday, March 3, 2024
HogTownHarry	3.8 Magic Rock / Goose Island Pond Hop September 24, 2022 - at The Argyll Arms (Oxford Circus) - on handpull cask. Brown pour, lovely tan stippled head. Smells like a very light brown ale - roast chocolate/nutshell, balancing funky hopping. Taste follows - balanced and roasty, light alcohol, bitter but not too bitter - a bit chalky (not in a bad way) - surprised how much i like this! Solid body, airy and astringent, medium-long earthy/chalky malty/roasty funky finish, interesting aftertaste - I dunno, I dug it. Sunday, March 3, 2024

The aroma is light malt and yeast. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, crisp, malt, earthy, yeasty, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation. Aroma is of citrus, lemon, malt, tropical fruits, orange, mango, passionfruit, quite sweet and slightly woody. Taste is juicy, sweet, tropical fruits, mango, orange, passionfruit, lemon, citrus and slightly malty, hoppy and a bit syrupy. Watery and not much carbonation. Overall an okay hazy pale. Classic hazy pale flavours and drinkable and refreshing but very sweet. Not much carbonation though, likely due to these cans being about to expire. Wednesday, February 7, 2024

dragnet101	3.4 Magic Rock High Wire Zest Clear gold, small white head. Aroma of mandarin, lime and grapefruit come through. Taste of grapefruit, citrus noted sherbet and ginger biscuit. I enjoyed the juicy adjuncts and hop at the start and the decent bitterness and light spice in the finish. The middle sherbet noted part drags a bit although is pleasant. In the mouth it is smooth and sweet with a creamy texture. Chocolate and roasted malts hit the taste buds first, followed quickly by lactose, then cola, marzipan and hints of vanilla. Aroma is of toffee, caramel, sweet malt, brown sugar, notes of dark fruits and prunes and vanilla notes. Taste is of sweet malt, toffee, caramel, dark fruits, brown sugar, slightly bitter and some roasty notes. Quite a soft and watery mouthfeel and light carbonation. Overall a very good beer.
