Big Island Graham's Pilsner
Shaker pint draft at the Wailea area Monkeypod Kitchen in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. The pour is a clear golden with a white foamy head that leaves behind nice lace. The aroma is faint sweet malt grain cereal and a bit of honey, maybe lime citrus. The taste is a nice balance of the semi sweet malt grains, the honey and the lime citrus, along with mineral in the back. The palate is light to medium bodied with active carbonation and the dry mineral finish. Easy drinking.

Big Island Red Giant Ale
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Red-amber beer with a small off-white head. Pretty typical amber ale here with toasted grains and bread, some caramel, and toffee. A bit of an herbal hop bite as well as some grass and a touch of pine. Subtle red apple and berry esters in the background. Light to medium grass and pine bitterness on the finish. It's at least not bad, but not something I really was a huge fan of.

Big Island White Mountain Porter
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Pretty much black with a small khaki head. Certainly get the coffee here but the coconut is a bit more subdued. Kind of a chewiness from the coconut, which I like--gives a nice mouthfeel. Plenty of roasted malt, cacao, some molasses, and a bit of a sweet plum and raisin fruitiness. Light bitterness on the finish. Maybe a bit of ash. Okay.

Big Island Golden Sabbath
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Clear amber beer with a white head. Big time sweetness of candy sugar, stone fruit, grape, and raisin. Maybe a little bit of a cotton candy thing going on. There's a decent bit of spice to it, mostly clove with a hint of white pepper. Hints of booze on the back end. Flavor finishes with an overripe pineapple note. If you like these strong pale/golden Belgian styles I'm sure this is great, but it's a bit too much of non-stop sweetness for me to really love.

Big Island Hoptopias
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Somewhat cloudy golden-orange beer with a white head. Really dank beer. A lot of weed, herbs, sap, and resin up front. Sweeter citrus and a bit of tropical fruit in there, too. Somewhat of a floral tea note? Mild astringency and a lot of grass on the back of the tongue. Strong citrus and pine hop flavors to it. Certainly quite sweet and malty, too. It's not bad, but wasn't my favorite. Kind of reminds me of some of those San Diego double IPAs from the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Big Island Paniolo Pale Ale
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Clear golden beer with a finger of dense white foam. This is one of the better hoppy beers I tried here. Grass and citrus hops with a nice orange and grapefruit peel note to it. Good biscuity malt base with some sweet bread and marmalade. Light to moderate bitterness of grass and citrus rind on the finish. Maybe a touch of unripe pineapple in there, too. Not bad.

Big Island Graham's Pilsner
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Clear darker golden beer with a soapy white head. Found this to be a fairly unoffensive though unremarkable beer. Sweet bread and grains up front with a light floral and herbal hop profile. A bit of sweet fruit esters, mainly apple and a hint of pear, along with mild citrus. Light grass and herbal bitterness on the finish. Good enough carbonation.

Big Island / Caldera Red Sea of Cacao
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Dark amber beer with a khaki head. This was much better than I expected, actually. Slight saltiness along with a ton of chocolate. Kind of like a salted dark chocolate bar. Caramel, toffee, and a light spiciness. It's got a bit of an earthy quality on the finish that I don't love, but otherwise not bad.

Big Island Malama Lager
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Clear golden beer with a white head. Sweet grains and bready malt is pretty much what this one has going on. Not much in the way of hops, just a bit of a leafy floral quality and a touch of sweet citrus. Mild grassy bitterness on the finish. Get a little bit of an apple juice ester. Good body and carbonation, at least.

Big Island Irie Irish Stout
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Pours black with a cream colored head. Lots of roasted malts, some acidic coffee, and a bit of dark chocolate. Light earthiness to it as well. Good mouthfeel and body at least. The beer itself is okay, just kind of heavy on the roast and not a whole lot else, so feels a bit acidic. Mild bread and toast sweetness. Okay.

Big Island Jabba De Gose
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Pours a cloudy pink kind of color with a white head. Definitely a bit salty, but sour citrus fruits come through strongly after that. Somewhat of a guava note as well. Mild wheat and bread malt flavor and sweetness. Get a lot of lime, lemon, and grapefruit here. Just a bit of grass and green grape skin on the finish. The best beer tried during our visit.

Big Island Pelagic IPA - Tangerine
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Cloudy light orange beer with a white head. Smells of tangerine, grapefruit, grass, and pine. Fair amount of bready malt as well. Flavor is sweet malts and citrus up front. Fairly assertive pithy and resinous bitterness on the finish. Kind of rough around the edges, but better than a number of other offerings I tried.

Big Island Vivo Pils
On tap @ Big Island Brewhaus. Clear pale yellow beer with a white head. Sweet bready malt up front on the nose. Sort of a graininess, too. Get some apple ester as well. Somewhat slick in body.
