Springherne Blakeny Red Blend
Cask at the Cock Tavern - Hackney, London. Pours very lightly hazy pale yellow with a slim, bubbly topping. Great aroma, a little funky, with subtle fart, tangy lemon, juicy pear. Medium sweet flavour with subtle tartness, some ripe pear, jammy citrus, light acidity, faint bitter apple skin, salt. Medium bodied with it almost seems a little spritzy. Tangy and sugary sweet on the finish, with ripe and chewy pear, more lemon, background drying funk, more salty bite. Great stuff overall.

Springherne Cider - Medium (Draught)
From polycask (gravity dispense) at Great British Beer Festival, day 4 on 5 August 2011. My first cider from a producer about whom I know absolutely nothing. Couldn’t even find a full address. Hazy gold colour. Pulpy fruit aroma with a touch of rotting. A bit cheesy. Designated "4" on the GBBF sweetness scale, which means medium, and that seemed about right. Some farmyard in the flavour, with some acidity although tannins were quite restrained. Quite decent - not the most complex or demanding cider but there’s plenty to maintain the interest. Easy-drinking but not too simplistic.
