5 Ground Breaker Inclusion Attained at Gerrard’s Market for $4.99, Inclusion is a gluten-free dry hopped pale ale crafted by Ground Breaker Brewing. The aroma of sorghum and tapioca are discerned upon the nose. The appearance is a clear gold with a low white head. The alcohol content is 5.7%. Belgian style candi syrup lightly sweetens the complexion and smoothens the body. Tapioca flavors the dry hopped mouthfeel and harmonizes with the candi syrup. Sorghum is sensible to the hop and tapioca profile. Lentils compliments the sorghum along with bringing a bean like touch. Chestnuts accent the sorghum and lentil combination. Cane sugar is noticeable as the chestnut imbues with the candi syrup. Inclusion is a mesmerizing gluten free pale ale. The Belgian style candi syrup permeating the sorghum, lentil, tapioca, and chestnut body makes this beer stand out even from regular beer. To be honest, I haven’t had a sorghum beer since I did a gluten cleanse; experiencing sorghum for the first time took some doing. The Belgian style candi syrup makes this beer easy to drink though. Lentils are effective at blending with the sorghum. I loved drinking this beer and highly recommend trying it despite it is a gluten free beer. Inclusion is delicious and unforgettable for its creativity. Cheers. Prost. Drink for the love of beer. 3.4 Ground Breaker Experiment Ale Series: St. Denny Dubbel Lovely mahogany body with fluffyish caramel cover. Caramel and prune notes characterize the nose. The body feels lightweight. Watered down caramel malt rolls over the tongue, soon accompanied by notes of brown sugar, dark fruits, and cherry. Decent characteristics, just feels underbodied. Monday, February 18, 2019

3.4 Ground Breaker IPA No. 5 Can. Maty and fruity nose, with medium dark fruit and stone fruit, sweat stink, floral, and piney. Medium coppr color, very thin head. Toasty malt, and earthy sort of hoppiness, herbs, and grass. Medium body. Hmm.... this seems more like a traditional ale or a very mild old ale than an IPA. Friday, February 15, 2019

3 Ground Breaker Experiment Ale Series: St. Denny Dubbel This is a strange beer, not much hop flavor and no noticeable malt taste, even the Belgian yeast is very weak. It's not a bad beer, but not really good either. It pours a dark orangey color with a small head. Very interesting beer. Its drinkable but not wanting a lot of it. Sunday, January 27, 2019

3 Ground Breaker IPA No. 5 Can (Aug 23, 2018 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light amber. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted bread, malt syrup), lightly to moderately hoppy (grapefruit, apricot), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with a note of hard candy / sugar. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Surprisingly decent, given the ingredients (lentils???). More malty than hoppy (although this isn't a very fresh sample, admittedly), and a bit too much raw doughy yeast odor to actually be enticing...but many GF beers are repulsive, and this definitely isn't that. A tad sour in the mouth, but not really in an off way. I honestly like the Omission beers better, but this is totally drinkable, almost enjoyable...and it's 100% GF, rather than just G-reduced. Nice job. Thursday, January 17, 2019

3.4 Ground Breaker IPA No. 5 Can to cup. Citrus nose with a very muted lentil note. Dark orange, pretty dark for an IPA but pleasant, foam dissipates quickly. Pine resin, sorghum, slight pith, pleasant and balanced finish. Medium body, a bit thicker than typical IPAs. This has been the best gluten free beer I've had. The addition of lentils seems to mask a lot of the negative flavors of using sorghum. Thursday, January 10, 2019

2.9 Ground Breaker Olallie Can. Blackberry aroma with notes of floral rose hip, Some spicy yeast and grassy hops. Pours clear reddish-amber colored with a thin off white head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with sweet blackberry and floral rose hip flavors. Finishes dry with spicy yeast and grassy hop bitter flavors. OK, started off fine, but the flavors at the end were muddled and bitter. Sunday, December 9, 2018

3.3 Ground Breaker Dark Ale 12 oz draft at Harvester/Ground Breaker Brewing Gastropub in Portland, Oregon. The pour is a hazed, black brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is nutty, roast and fresh malt cereal. The taste is the bread cereal malt, soft roast, and the flavor picks up a sweetness that I seem to find in other gluten free beers. Detracts a bit, but still a really drinkable dark ale. Friday, December 7, 2018

The aroma is sweet sugary candied malt with some floral earthy hops. The flavor is sweet sugary candied malts with some green hops in the finish. 2.6 Ground Breaker Experiment Ale Series: Fresh Hop Pale Ale - 2013 Meridian Bottle (2015):   Bright golden in color, thin to moderate foamy head, white, light carbonation, little lacing.   Has an odd and very soft apple cider like nose.   Hops are faint, perhaps a smidgen of earth.   Seems to be more of a faint fruity background than a hoppy one... odd.   Light to moderate body and mouthfeel.   As it warms it gets a little mealy, even a bit chalky.   Not much of a Pale Ale, and certainly doesnt exhibit that "freshness" that I expect of the style.   Too little hop aroma/flavor to be honest.
