Clear pour, with the slightest if yellowish hues, and no head. Earthy lime, with light apples. The lime is pretty over powering.lively carb, light mouth feel, a touch thin. Finish is sweet, with a powerful lime jujube flavour.

Pours golden yellow with white head that goes away quickly. Aroma of sweet apple juice, and it tastes way too sweet. After taste lingers, and all the sweetness just won't get out of you mouth.

Ironwood Sizzlin' Bacon Brown Sugar Bliss
October 23, 2015 - Volo Cask Days, Session #1 - gravity cask. Bacon! BACONBACONBACONBACON!!!! Very pale yellow with no head. Aroma is disappointingly just a decent ripe sweet apple cider - want bacon!!! Taste has just a little bacon - mostly just tart apple, mid-level alcohol, building sweetness - slick, acidic, a little tingly, sticky finish ... just okay. grmph. wanted BACON.

473 ml can. Very pale yellowish color, a few bubbles but no head. Sweetish juicy aroma of apples, with tart and woody notes. The flavour is sweetish-tart apples, with a mildly acidic and earthy finish. A bit thin and flat on the palate. Not impressed with this one.

Where and how: can LCBO 473 ml
Aroma: front was slightly funky sadly in bad way. Wet cloth notes that lingered a while. Mild sweetness with apple theme below… Still that foul smelling wet cloth.
Appearance :
Top: NA.
Base: clear, pale gold
Palate : medium thinner body, average carbonation.
Taste: much better than what aroma offered. Good apple flavor depth. Balanced. Some tartness on sides. Tasty.
other notes solid cider if not that aroma flaw.

Ironwood Hard Cider
I generally agree with most of the reviews on this site, but the score on this is far below what I expected. So I’ll weigh in on this one ;-) This cider is on the sweeter side of dry, but still unmistakably dry. It strikes a superb balance for me - perhaps the best of all Ontario ciders I am aware of. (Brickworks’ 1904 is one of my favourites in this regard, for reference.) Ironwood is extremely sessionable but suffers nothing for it; I imagine it is as excellent on its first taste as on its 20th. It pours pale, nearly straw, and clear, with almost no head. It has a lively carbonation that complements the slight sweetness, very lightly sour taste. There are hints of lime. Generally, like most ciders it has a light body and a clean but not forgettable finish...something like a lingering pear-skin, but barely there. Very pleasant. The only aspect of this cider that is wanting is the nose. There is barely anything on it, it seems. There is the faintest hint of lime and minerality, but otherwise all the nose told me was that this was going to be dry. If you enjoy ciders and have not tried this, you should. I’m not sure why it isn’t held in higher regard. It doesn’t have the flashiest packaging, but it is an excellent cider, at least in comparison to its Ontario counterparts (which is what I usually sample).

Pours a clear light gold with a fizzy bubbly head goes away immediately. Fairly heavily carbonated. Apple and pear aromas. Flavours are pears and apples, some subtle acidic notes. Very sweet. Big bodied mouthfeel. Dry finish. Not bad but very tangy on the palate, making seem a little bit sour.

can. almost clear translucent without any bubble activity. sweetish apples, touch of acidity, pears as well, some bitter flesh and alcohol, ginger, yeast. low carbonation, light body, semi-sweet warming citrusy finish. inoffensive but a bit dull (relatively) strong cider, or like an inexpensive sweet white wine if you prefer. o-k.

Ironwood Pear
2016-07-09. Crisp very pale yellow body, headless, slightly bubbly. Aroma is vaguely floral, with the odd funky pear character that is typical of many perries. Flavour is sweetly fruity up front with candyish sweet undertones, apple and pear notes, brief acetone hints, and some odd accents I can’t place. Average bodied palate, decent carbonation. Fairly typical perry I think. Fewer rough edges than some, but enough that I prefer the apple cider personally. 6/3/6/3/14 On tap at Because Beer Festival, Hamilton.

[Cask at Cask Days 2015] Cask #14 of the fest. Pours a cloudy very pale white-yellow-green with no head. Slightly sweet apple aroma with no bacon coming through for me, just smells like a pleasant enough cider. Flavour’s the same, slightly sweet apple cider and no bacon. Average bodied. Nothing wrong with this but I got no bacon, shame.

341ml bottle - 6.0% ABV. Very pale gold - fizzy diminishing white head (3-). Mild but solid aroma - ripe apple, a bit tart, not all that sweet. Taste follows - simple acidic apple, not sweetened, just sweet from the apple - a little warming. Light body, slightly acidic, decent carbonation with a quick crisp finish - quite good!

Bottle via udbeernut. Pale yellow nearly clear pour. Slow carbonation. No head, as expected. Slight alcohol twang up front. Nose of faint apple and wood chips. Sparkling sweet start, lean body and a slim fruit finish make this a very drinkable and enjoyable lunch drink. (Lunch today was bean burritos, chicken tenders with a .5 pound side of crispy bacon). YUM!

Sunnybrook Iced Apple
Sampled at the winery. Deep golden pour. The nose has a lot of sweet apple but is also quite alcoholic. An odd sort of vegetal character seems to be there on the back as well. Ripe apple flavour up front with a touch of spice. A little bit of candied sweetness and a bit of cooked caramel. The palate is very sweet initially with a lack of acid (as in the iced pear) to balance. Hot flavour and finish make this somewhat of a disappointment.

Sunnybrook Iced Pear
Sampled at the winery. Deep golden colour with a sticky set of legs coating the glass. The nose is of ripe pear with a little bit of almost smoky phenolics coming off. Spiced fruit and deep rich pear flavour as well. The aroma is lovely but the palate is fairly unbalanced with not enough acid to support the intense sweetness of the cider. It comes across a little bit flabby as a result, unfortunately.

Sunnybrook Bosc Pear
Deep golden pour. The aroma is great. Bright fresh pear aroma with a little bit of spicy tannic aroma as well. Lots of ripe pear fruit and a nice sweet whiff of clove and baked fruit. Fresh and juicy. It leans sweet but there is some light acidity providing some structure to the base cider. Good stuff here really. The only thing I tried that I really enjoyed.
