Aromas of ripe stoney fruits and also some nutty notes. Taste is again more ripe stoney fruits, more nutty notes and some citrusy orange pith on a juicy hoppy finish. full body, low carbonation and smooth juicy mouthfeel. Excellent Triple really good. Faint aromas of roasted malts, dark fruits, chocolate and caramel. Taste is a touch sweet with more dark fruits, plums, some ash, roasted malts, a little chocolate and a little brown sugar. Quite nicely balanced between roasty and sweet. Medium to full body with fairly low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Pretty good! Sunday, December 24, 2023

Taste has more of these notes with some added candy notes, some doughy white bread, peppery spice, a light grassy hop and some sugar on the sweetish finish. Medium body with average carbonation. Franckg	3.5 Cazeau Tournay Royale Réserve Bouteille. Robe noire avec un col de mousse beige et rocailleux. Arômes de whisky, caramel, malt torréfié, chocolat poivré, réglisse, chêne, citron. En bouche, on retrouve encore ce fort côté barriqué qui développe des saveurs de caramel, bois et d'épices et qui comme au nez laisse présager du whisky. Malt torréfié ensuite, café et léger chocolat, réglisse. Finale un peu plus fruitée, sensation de vin rouge même, retour du caramel, matières cuites, faible amertume torréfiée. Texture huileuse, un peu légère pour le style, corps moyen. Bien mais beaucoup de barrique et saveurs générales mal balancées, sans compter l'aspect très légère du liquide. Friday, July 28, 2023

corkyrory66	2.5 tHOPe Bière de 9 % abv, qui semble être un pur exercice de style .. puisque avec cet abv on a visé 20° plato, et en plus 20 ebc .. Où le bât blesse vraiment, c'est quand on a utilisé pour tout cela, accrochez-vous, pas moins de 20 houblons !!!! (je ne mets pas 20 points d'exclamation, mais cela les mériterait !!!) Si quelque chose est bien inutile dans la bière, c'est d'y mettre un grand nombre de houblons qui s'annulent les uns les autres … au lieu de s'additionner .. Nous parlons de qualité gustative, bien sûr. On met en avant pour ces 20 boublons un 4x20 ebu ! En dehors du fait que 4 x 20 me fait penser à un truc un peu vieillot .. on peut dire que ces 80 ebu seront encore plus douteux .. Exemplaire vieilli par un ami et remis en cadeau .. pas cazeau .. Bref, cette bière est curieuse et rien ne transparaît de ses 20 houblons, au final on trouve plutôt une bière basique .. CONCLUSION : pourquoi faire compliqué quand on peut faire simple ? (musique pairing : Dice and the acid warrior lord, album Ignition .. bon album avec 10 morceaux bien ficelés .. la moitié de 20 !!) Wednesday, December 14, 2022

La bouche est assez dense, intense, surtout que j'avais bu une bière très légère avant. Notes de réglisse, anisées, herbacées, une légère astringence. [ NB several years out of date, so review may be skewed ] Pours a cloudy orange-brown with fairly high carbonation. Initial foaming from the bottle, but otherwise very little head at all despite trying. What there is off-white. Aroma has malts, marmalade and grains plus hints of ripe cheese. Initially rather watery in the mouth, but then flavour floods in. Malts, yeast and oranges, plus coriander and hints of other spices. Quite nice but I probably need to rerate with a fresh bottle !
