Here’s a barleywine in the rea
(for five gallons)

17 lbs English Pale Malt
2 lbs 55L English Crystal Malt

3 oz Cascade Whole Hops (5.75% AA) (60 min)
2 oz Cascade Whole Hops (15 min)
1 oz Cascade Whole Hops (at flameout)

1 oz Cascade Whole Hops (dry hop)

Wyeast 1272 American Ale II
To brew this batch w/ extract, replace the 17 lbs of Pale Malt with 13 lbs of Light Liquid Malt Extract, steep the Crystal Malt, and if you do a partial boil, bump up the bittering hops by an ounce or so.

OR

Single infusion mash at 152°F.
