My Bottom Line:
This Stout surprises with its nut-laced coffee tones and oatmeal sweetness which precede a dry and bitter roastiness. Some leafy hops accompany the roasted malts in this finish which lingers courageously.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the brown-sleeved black gown.
-The fact that it is not served with nitrogen carbonation allows us to perceive many more flavors than usual. Another gutsy move from this new brewpub.
-Chocolatey maltiness is polite, tagging along molasses-like sweetness.br>
-The body is healthy and not excessively carbonated, making this a very drinkable and nourishing pint.
-The finish is quite roasty, earthy and bitter.
-This is nothing special, but it’s solid and very drinkable.

Oct 2, 2007 En fût. Verre de dégustation à la brasserie. Arôme: Légère odeur de café torréfié. Apparence: La couleur est noire opaque. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une large dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de café avec une pointe de chocolat. Courte durée de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement aqueuse. Faible effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de torréfaction en arrière goût. (Rating #1276)
