Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jul 2, 2008 Bottle at Chris_O’s 19th April 2008 tasting, courtesy of The Wolf. Wonderful raspberry and malt aroma makes up for the murky brown appearance. The tart raspberries dominate the flavour too and this doesn’t work quite as well as on the nose. Smooth and leaves flavour in the mouth without clinging too much. Nice stuff. akevitt (93), Valhalla, Minnesota, USA Jun 17, 2008 Rate from Oct 2007 [Bottle] Thanks to BDR for sharing. The beer was murky brown with light tan head. In the aroma there was cherries and raspberries. In the flavor there was cherries and raspberries and something else... The alcohol was well hidden. Smooth tart acidic finish. Much better than anything from New Glarus. harrisoni (4930), Ashford, Kent, England Apr 25, 2008 Bottle at Chris_o’s The Wolf tasting. Thanks to thewolf for bringing it and to Duff for sharing. Raspberry tart on aroma. That’s lovely. Good in mouth too. Bit too much of hot alcohol though. Good aroma, then just too hot. kramer17801 (1846), sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 21, 2008 50 cl bottle, via anders37. Pours a nice reddish amber body under a minimal wispy off-white head. Minimal raspberry in the nose that I could identify, just more of a mix of dark fruitiness, as much from the maltiness as the fruit I suppose. Minimal alcohol. The the flavor is pretty great, very dark over-ripe raspberries with minimal alcohol for such a big beer. Not overly sweet, lots of caramel maltiness, a touch of tartness on the back end. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with just a little stickiness, nice perfect soft carbonation. Overall, I think that this is a bit under-rated, very natural raspberry flavor, you can tell it’s real fruit. Bragesnak (974), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 Christmas 2006
