Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Recent canned batch of this has been brewed at Bryggeriet S.C. Fuglsang.
The first batch of this beer destined for export to the US market was brewed at Nøgne Ø in Grimstad, Norway in 2006. Later batches have been brewed at Ølfabrikken.
Introduced at 'Fynske Øldage' 2005.

A dark and rich porter inspired by the Baltic porters traditionally made in Scandinavia. Roasted without being burned or bitter, with the flavor dominated by dried fruits and vinous notes. High amounts of residual sugars and a fruity aroma makes this beer the perfect companion for chocolate desserts, if served lightly chilled. Brewed on Maris Otter ale malt, British Brown Malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, two types of caramel malt and brown sugar. Unpasteurized and unfiltered like all our beers of course.

500 ml bottle, thanks to Beer 2000. Pours jet black with a beautiful chocolate head. Rich aromas of espresso coffee, roasted malt and black chocolate. Scents of smoke and acidic fruits. Full-flavored. Roasty, malty, sweet and bitter. Coffee, dried dark fruits, citrus, caramel, tar... You name it! Powerful and extremely well rounded. Fat body, thick and smooth mouthfeel. Dry and lingering bitter chocolate finish. A fantastic beer, I’ve got me a new favorite...

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Poured so thick I thought I was drinking an imperial stout. Tasted of chocolate and roasted malts. Smooth and creamy on the palate. I was a bit skeptic about the 8.50 price tag for a bomber, but it was well worth it.

This is hands down the best porter I have ever had. Chocolate creamy smoothness. If I didn’t know it was a porter I would swear it was a stout. This beer was so dangerously creamy and smooth it was like drinking chocolate milk. Nice tan head excellent nose and the taste is something that leaves you wanting more. This is without a doubt the best porter you would ever want to consume NOTHING else comes close. RECOMMEND.

Truly impressive beer. Pours black with a dark leather colored head. Nose full of char, smoke, coffee, and sweet licorice hops. Notes of coffee, hops, dark toast, oak, and overwhelming chocolate backed by smoke are smooth on the finish for a delicious, drinkable beer.

Sep 15, 2007 Bottle from Bier Koning. Wow! A wonderful dark porter. Chocolate and malt taste. So smooth and creamy like a malt. An incredible texture. Dense with dark fruits, coffee and chocolate. Really sweet.
