Dark oily body underneath a thin khaki colored head. Aroma is highlighted by roasted barley, black malts, coffee, and a nice vinous quality that lies somewhat in the background. Bitter roasted malts hit the tongue upon first sip followed by a slightly tart red grape note. Layers of fresh roast coffee and bittersweet chocolate make their way into the equation later on. Finishes with a slick mouth feel and a pleasant mix of sweetness and bitter roasted flavors. Very nice porter.

Aug 29, 2008 Swing top found at Beer Paradise in Holstebro. Black colored with brown head. Roasted malt aroma with hints of caramel. Sweet taste of coffe and chocolote with hints of caramel and nuts. Very well combined. An excelent brew

Aug 27, 2008 aroma was deep and complex, roast with some deep toffee notes in the backround. the flavor is very complex, notes of tobacco, raisin, biscuit, a bit tarry and a bit smokey. poured very vicous and black with brown around the edges and a very tan head. very full bodied mouthfeel. an excellent beer appriciable on many levels though it wasn’t my favorite.

Aug 26, 2008 Raven black pour with one finger tan head and impenetrable lacing. Aroma is huge roast and chocolate with licorice and espresso. Flavor is balanced to perfection. Roast component melds with chocolaty, creamy sweetness, and an undeniable coffee character. Palate is thick, full bodied, creamy and smooth. This is everything a porter should be and I find it hard to find an imperfection.

Aug 26, 2008 jet black pour, big but light brown head. Aroma is very nice, roasted malts along with some sweet notes and licorice. Flavor is phenomenal- bitter chocolate, roasty malt, and a beautiful creaminess. The palate is absolutely extraordinary; wave after wave of flavor hits the tongue, then eventually fades into a delicious sweet but strong aftertaste. Wondrous brew.

Aug 24, 2008 Bomber! Top porter EVER!!! at least for me. Jet black pour with 1-finger brown head. Aroma of roasty dark malt, chocoff, molasses, brown sugar, figs, almonds, raisins, some hops and bourbon. Very complex aroma. The taste is roasty, rich, dark malty, with a big chocolate syrup element, some molasses, brown sugar coated almonds, figs, and a twinge of finishing hops and oaky bourbon notes. Very complex, rich, and well balanced beer.
