Commercial Description:
ØLFABRIKKEN WINTER ALE is a complex double fermented ale brewed to the danish vinter We have fermented this ale with two different yeast strains - first an english ale yeast and next a belgian abbey-ale yeast. It provides an unique combination of fruitiness and robustness backed up by six different malts and beet sugar and belgian candi sugar. Serving: With its malty taste and subdued bitterness this ale is the perfect companion for the lightly spiced, traditional danish vinterdishes with dark meat and vegetables. Ølfabrikken Vinter Ale is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. [thank you, ChristianScheffel]
Pours a deep, lightly muddy brown with a fine, staying creamy off white head. Aroma is plums, toffee, slight roasted caramel. Nice creaminess. Flavourhas lots of caramel and is lightly vinious. Good with super balance.

Bottle at RBSG. Poured clear medium caramel with a light cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet with lighter fruit and lightly-smoked toffee coming through toward the back.. almost candied at the end. The flavor was sweeter yet with more caramel and some medium-skinned fruits.. finished with some oxidation in the likeness of dark fruits.. quite dry at the end. Medium-bodied with OK balance on the palate.. felt a bit past its prime, but still aiight.

Tasted from bottle at RBSG. Amber color. Bubblegum aroma. I’m getting tired of using this descriptor (even though I like it), especially for a beer like this, which shouldn’t have bubblegum in the aroma. Is a byproduct of Abbey yeast? Light carbonation. Sweetish.

Deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet spicy flavor with caramel notes and toasted malt. Warming alcohol in the end.
