I’m rating this from my slender memories as I had in back in January. I was very drunk and wasn’t really up to rating at the time, but since I haven’t had it since here we go (I will rerate it if they make it again next year....!!). A dark brown beer with a fine well lasting head. Malt, yeast and spices in the aroma. Malty and spicy in the flavor as well with a quite conspicuous yeast note. Full bodied. Good, but could need a little more balance IMO.

Aug 12, 2008 Bottle at RBSG. Poured clear medium caramel with a light cap of off-white head. The aroma was sweet with lighter fruit and lightly-smoked toffee coming through toward the back.. almost candied at the end. The flavor was sweeter yet with more caramel and some medium-skinned fruits.. finished with some oxidation in the likeness of dark fruits.. quite dry at the end. Medium-bodied with OK balance on the palate.. felt a bit past its prime, but still aiight.

Aug 4, 2008 Tasted from bottle at RBSG. Amber color. Bubblegum aroma. I’m getting tired of using this descriptor (even though I like it), especially for a beer like this, which shouldn’t have bubblegum in the aroma. Is a byproduct of Abbey yeast? Light carbonation. Sweetish.

May 29, 2008 Bottle. Nice head with medium duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are rich with spices and dark fruits. Malt and caramel as well.

May 4, 2008 Deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet spicy flavor with caramel notes and toasted malt. Warming alcohol in the end.
