Miksu (1244), Jyväskylä, Finland May 15, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Hazy amber color with small creamy head. Sweet, perfumed, candyish and raisiny aroma. Sweet, vinous, toffeish, raisiny, fruity and toasty flavor with notes of red wine, lots of warming alcohol and some hops in the background. Very thick and chewy mouthfeel. Good dessert beer.
pilsnerrogge (1586), Finspång, Sweden Jul 30, 2008 Bottled: Colour is amber with a slight haze. Low but firm head. Sweet aroma with notes of caramel, toffee, orange peel and liquorice. Sweet and sticky mouth feel. Sweet, malty flavour with notes of caramel. Long alcohol bitter finish. Ole_R (1183), Oslo, Norway Jul 19, 2008 500 ml bottle. Thin offwhite head quickly fading to ring of foam. Foggy, orangey-amber colored body. Sweet toffee aroma with a strong alcohol scent. Sugar and lot of sweet caramellish malts in the flavor. Evident alcohol presence, low bitterness. Big body, sticky texture.
Warm malty finish. One-dimensional and boozy. Defreni (480), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 14, 2008 Flaske.
Cloudy dark orange. Low head. Big estery aroma with bit of phenols. Sweet, sticky mouthfeel, with a vineous touch, and notes of dried fruits and little caramel. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England May 26, 2008 Draught at Kobehavnske Oldage, May 2006. Hazy amber colour. Way too sweet for my palate and very boozy. Sticky mouthfeel. Desperately short of balancing bite. Strength alone doesn’t really make it. Not too impressed.
