omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 23, 2006 Draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver. Clear mahogany colour. Coffeeish roasty malt aroma. Dryish with notes of nuts and coffee. Medium bodied with delightfully soft mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness. Plenty of discrete flavours, yet very drinkable - this is a surprisingly good beer! Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 5, 2006 Draught, at the Railway Club Bright dark amber colour. Fairly rich caramel aroma. Very creamy body with light chocolate, fig, toffee and Devon cream notes. Soft, sweet finish. A unique, distinctive beer. You’ll want to be in the mood for something sweet, but it’s pretty tasty, reminiscent of some of the soft, sweet Belgians (Cuvee de l’Ermitage, Petrus Dubbel Bruin) in the way it presents itself. JoeMcPhee (3815), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jan 22, 2006 Tap at the Railway Club. Deep amber with a thick, sticky and persistent off-white head. Vienna and munich malts, light nuttiness and brown sugar. Flavour is very sweet and nutty. Nice toasted malt, brown sugar and caramel. A bit of earthy hops and some lingering nuttiness round out the finish. It is a bit sweet, but not cloying. The malts here are very fresh tasting. Quite a nice brew.
