Pours with a frothy, initially three finger thick, light tan colored head. The beer is a brilliantly clear, rich gold color. Aromatic notes of sweet, butterscotch malt, grassy grain and spicy hops. This has a really inviting aroma to it, I really like the mix of hop and malt notes, though it could perhaps use a touch more hop aromatics.
Fairly dry, with an almost tartness, though not really. Biscuit like malt and a fresh grain character are accented by a hint of butterscotch. The beer is fairly well carbonated which provides an extra tingle on the tongue and a touch more palate cleansing character. Herbal hop notes evoke thoughts of lemon grass, hints of mint, fresh cut hay, and an almost green basil like thing. A touch of bitterness in the finish, as well as a touch of lemon-like tartness. This is on the dry side for a traditional Czech Pilsner, it seems to be lacking that malt fullness and even the diacetyl is a touch on the lower end. Still this is a decent beer, one which I would happily consume a few pints of.

Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Nice golden body, dense white head receding, Saaz (or should I say Zatec Red) nose. Honeyed malts, Saaz, light DMS. Lightly carbonated for the style.

Aug 6, 2008 [330ml bottle at Malmaison, Reading] Attractive deep gold/ amber with a large, lasting foamy white head. Smells sweet, honeyed, some grass. Tastes disappointing in comparison; some malt and a tiny hint of grass, but mainly a bland watery bitterness. Instantly forgettable.

Jul 30, 2008 Kind of a light orange pour. a bit of a fruity, grassy aroma. Sweet, grassy taste with a chemical aftertaste. I’m not a fan. Very difficult to finish.

Jul 27, 2008 Bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, NE. Pours a clear gold with two fingers of fluffy white head that diminishes to a thin cap. The nose is of grainy, biscuity malt with a lightly grassy supporting note. Light-bodied with a finely grainy mouthfeel concluding crisp and lightly dry. Sweet, light pilsner malt with a mildly grassy hop note at the finish. This is a fairly solid brew. It’s not flashy, but it’s not too shabby.
