Quack-Duck (2202), Bodensee, Germany Jun 16, 2007 bottle, bought at Pivni Galerie. Amber colour, tiny head. Very fruity and malty, only slightly hopped. A bit thin and watery, though. Dry finish.
Ober (602), Best, Netherlands Nov 21, 2008 A hazy red/amber colored beer, with a small beige head. The aroma of fruits red prunes, malts with some sweet. The taste of fruits like berries and cherries. Malty sweet, with some bitterness. The aftertaste is bittersweet for quit a while. ogivlado (2550), Zagreb, Croatia Oct 12, 2008 Bottled(330ml). -Nice copper coloured, again no head, plastic and caramel nose. Sweet malty, caramel and some herbs with notes of plums and some fruits. Short metallic finish. All three Želiv beers were HUGE disappointment. KnutAlbert (2583), Oslo, Norway Sep 11, 2008 Darker than the other beer from the same brewery.
Much more sophisticated palate, sweet and sour, vinous, dark fruit, some oxidation. If this was brewed to 8 or 9 % with a bit more body and warmth, it would have been a world class beer. TEJA (146), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 8, 2008 This is one strange Czech beer. First it has no foam and small carbonation. The colour is light brown. In the aroma it is like a aged barley wine but dilluted. The taste is also sweet with aromatic spices. KimJohansen (5208), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 28, 2008 Hazy amber with tiny off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, dark fruits and caramel. Flavor likewise with a sweet end.
