pivnizub (4595), Bochum, Porúří, Germany May 16, 2009 Bottle: Hazy, deep golden, lots of small floaties visible, small off-white layer; caramelly-toasty traces in the solid hoppy nose; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; quite dry finish with hops and pale malt, followed by a lingering hoppy-fruity aftertaste. Fine stuff......... ante (2801), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 25, 2009 Updated: Apr 26, 2009Bottled at Monks Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy pale amber colour with a low white foam. Rather hoppy aroma of spicy, orangey, and minerally hops with notes of biscuity yeast and salt. Nearly full-bodied with dryish hoppy and yeasty notes of wet grass, orange-peels and minerals with yeasty undertones of cookies. Long medium-bitter finish of orangey and grassy Poperinge hops. Nice stuff. omhper (11601), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 13, 2009 Bottled at Belgobaren, Stockholm. Hazy pale amber, small head. Fruity sweaty hoppy nose. Salt covers sweet fruity malt. Medium-full bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Elegand and pleasant with plenty of hops, think De Ranke XX. finishes with marked floral bitterness. MoritzF (4510), Ruhrpott, Germany Apr 7, 2009 (33cl bottle) Hazy, deep orange to amber colour with a short almost white foamy layer. Light-sweet apricot- and peach-fruity aroma with a slightly woody, almost English hoppy touch. Sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft (cara-)malty base with a moderate fruit character, shades of licorice and herbal, slightly woody hops. Moderately sweet malty and spicy finish with a good dash of aromatic hops. Another nice one from this promising brewer (07.IV.09). altonbrownd (1624), Amsterdam, Netherlands Feb 4, 2009 Bottle from Bier Koning. Dark armber body with large head. Malty nose. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, malt syrup), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), lightly yeasty (basement, cobwebs), with notes of baked apple and pear syrup.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium to full body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic.
Well, it sure as heck isn’t a tripel...very sweet, not very yeasty, and really pretty dull and clumsy in the nose. Not a very good rendition. Beautiful appearance, though, I have to give it that. Pretty nice mouthfeel too. But the aroma and flavor balance just aren’t there. BeerandBlues2 (2946), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jan 14, 2009 Bottle. Gusher. Pours hazy orange with an average, fizzy, white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (hay, straw), average hops (grass), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard, earth) with notes of pear, cask, and dust. Light bodied, gritty texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness and acidity, moderate bitterness. KimJohansen (5662), Copenhagen V, Denmark Dec 31, 2008 Cloudy amber with large off white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with coriander and fruity notes. Flavour likewise and it finished nicely dry. Good amount of coriander.
