Svesse (2209), Hässelby, Sweden Jun 9, 2009 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Black colour with brief, pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with freshly ground black coffee, cocoa and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of freshly ground coffee, liquorice, cocoa, black-currant, hints of ashes and a generous well roasted coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, dry with a soft and rounded mouthfeel. An excellent stout in stunning balance with lots of flavours and an alcohol level that makes it very drinkable. Very nice. Dark-brown color, nice cloudy tan head. Aroma of molasses, tobacco, cold coffee and some licorice. Roasted malty, very ashy flavor. FInish is bitterish-roasted. Nice soft and velvety mouthfeel. Just too much ash and tobacco in the flavor for my liking. Otherwise quite ok.
