A truly ugly beer to look at. I dont think Ive ever given a one for appearance before. Murky, faecal, reddish brown with a scummy saliva like beige head. Initial impression of the aroma was herby and spicy perhaps even with a little mint. Then a sweet, leathery, yeasty maltiness developed. The taste has that sweet malt, but some rather less attractive flavours as well, a sort of chalky, peppery, sour aspirin or indigestion tablet taste that I couldnt quite identify. Some background dryness. I really didnt like this much.

Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Smell is musty, pepper, grains, flowers, vegtables, and malts. Look is brown, light brown with an off white head. Taste is sweet, malts, hops, and flowers.

Bottle(donker) pours very dark brown almost black with a 2 finger light tan head. Plenty of floaties. Smells like roasted barley, spent coffe grinds, and thin alcohol. The mouth is super creamy and matches the tons of dark malt in the flavor. There is some smokiness and a little bit of chocolate. I love how malty it is. The mouth compliments the roasty flavors very well.

(Bottle, BB 02/09) Pours a brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of floral, toastiness, fennel, and caramel. Flavor of toasted malt, raisins, caramel, and light cocoa with a dry finish.
