4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 smashteroid (262) - USA - JUN 4, 2008
Served cold from 22 oz. bottle. Pours very dark brown (probably black) with a small light-brown head. Aroma of chocolate, sweet malts and a touch of alcohol. Flavor is sweet, rich and full. Somewhat creamy, with a very slightly bitter finish. A very good porter!

Bottle thanks to Papsoe. Not sure on a vintage. It had 2005 and 2007 stickers on it but I couldn’t read anything else on the label. Nothing much to say here except that this is a damn solid porter. Great in every way and not let down at all

22 ounce bottel that poured a deep dark brwon color, with aromas of coffee, wood, chocolate, nuts, and some dark roast. Flavor is dry cocoa, coffee, nuts, and some wood miixed in and blended nicely. Real great beer, glad my local bar carries this one.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 thicksuds (278) - Massachusetts, USA - FEB 24, 2012
Great pour, very foamy, dark, smells great.
Taste- there is something missing for me, I was expecting a little more complexity, but it is still good, very bitter for a porter, strong bitterness and burnt coffee flavor. I was looking for a little more milky smoothness, it was a little rough around the edges for me but still enjoyable, misses the elite category for me though.

At SMÖF 2011. Black beer with a brown head. Tar, licorice and chocolate aroma. Coffee, malty flavour with some bitterness.

2005 bottle at Birra+ in roma thanks Massi! Pours dark brown and black when it settles in with a small brown head. The nose is vanilla big as life. Roasted malt coffee with some chocolate. Slightly metallic. Taste is mildly bitter with a good amount of sweet to balance and a tad salty. Big bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit flat but creamy and the bite from the bitter coffee taste makes up for it. Great beer

Bottle 2005 vintage @ Bir&Fud bottega. After almost 3 years of stalking, i can finally say: thanks a lot Mirko for giving me the opportunity to have one of my highest ISOs. Solid jet black color, big viscosity; spongy browny tall head. Very intense aroma of coffee, espresso, roasted malt, grain, milk chocolate, cocoa beans, carob. Taste of coffee, roasted malt, bitter chocolate, vanilla, carob, just a hint of booze and a little bite of cherry, raisin (sherry alike somehow). medium to full body, hot chocolate liquid mouth feel. the bitter chocolate acts the major role in the finish giving both bitterness and sweetness. All of its components are perfectly balanced. no defects perceived, BTW I got neither hops nor herbal notes, maybe this is the only aspect lost in time. Honestly i have no clue about how good this beer was supposed to be in the 2005, or if the current batches are as good as the older ones. This bottle in in particular was still damned good, a masterpiece indeed. It remembered to me the Beer Geek as it was used to be some years ago. I’ve been picturing the moment i could have it for months, and on one snowy evening it just happened unexpectedly. that’s life brotha!

Bedste Harboe øl ever! Det siger måske ikke meget, men der er virkelig noget over den her!

ton of different smells and aromas come from this beer but somehow come together to make one of the best porters I’ve ever had. I picked up coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, roasted malt, licorice, and a bit of a burnt char type taste. Put that all together and you have a big and smooth porter. Another beer I would pick up in a heartbeat and even with over a year of age on it, it still packs a hell of a punch.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 wedgie9 (1441) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 6, 2012
Tasted on 8/21/11 from a capped 750mL bottle at Lush West Town. Pours a completely opaque, nearly black, oily dark brown with a thick light brown head that slowly recedes to a spot of lace with a decent collar that shows great retention. The nose is more coffee than anything else, but there are great notes of dark chocolate, a woody nuttiness, and other generally roasted aromas. The flavor is dry with the same woody and nutty note from the nose along with tons of coffee, dark chocolate, and general roasted notes. The body is medium plus with light carbonation and a super long roasted, coffee, and dark chocolate finish.
